Going downhill fast

Used to be a decent course but lack of investment is taking its toll. Grass is very long - even on some of the fairways. Still using winter mats - in the middle of April! And why have we got 3 temporary greens after some dry weather. Time to look elsewhere.

Not bad for a council run course.
Need to get dog walkers to stick to paths and not actually walk on the course including the greens.
Also lots of people sneaking onto course from damaged fencing.
Could be a nice course if managed properly.

Wet weather
Walked

Not a fair assessment

Unfortunately the weather was very poor (wet and windy) and the course conditions were close to being unplayable - the course had been closed a day or two before because of snow and waterlogged conditions. However, it was an enjoyable experience and I could see that in summer (with proper tees and greens rather than temporary) this would be a good challenge, definitely return. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Oh dear

It just gets worse. Used to be a cheap and cheerful course, but now it's almost unplayable.
Granted its only £14, but zero investment over the years have left it in a dreadful state.
Come on Cannock council, could be a gem and make you a profit?

Take plenty of balls

Great layout. Some challenging holes but not too difficult for beginners. Fairways in good condition, some greens are a bit patchy but most are OK. Could really do with trimming the rough - grass is very long in places. Even if you can find your ball, you may have trouble hitting any kind of shot. Still, at this price, you can't really complain.

Good course

Overall a great course, good layout with nice elevation changes.

Slight downside is overall condition could be improved as in tee box’s and greens with slight wear and tear.

Value for money

As the title suggests a great little course that’s exceedingly good value. Just watch out for the walkers.

Very good value!!!

The course was extremely well kept and looked after. The staff member behind the desk was very friendly and professional. She was amazingly helpful as I could not find the entrance as it was my first time. I did not use any of the off course amenities so it would have be unfair of me to comment on. They did have a small selection of golf items like gloves and balls etc. and a vending machine for snacks. Overall I was very impressed as It was not expensive and I was not expecting a lot.

Budget golf

Good course for what you pay. You do have to be mindful of dog walkers and school children. Greens where in good condition when I played. The course could do with better signage. If I wasn’t using golf pad I would have gotten lost going between holes

Always liked this course but the greens haven’t been maintained, too bobbly and needed a trim too. Come on lads please
