Evening summer golf
Skipton was an enjoyable round. Having got out before a rabbits match, we were able to play at our own pace. The course was very well presented, and the greens were running true.
While not the longest course (all the par 5s for this player reachable in two), there is a lovely variety of hole, with my favourite stretch been 15–18: a short narrow dog leg par four where a good drive leaves a chip on to a green guarded by a stream, returning over the stream to a mid length par 3 from an elevate tee, then to stroke 1 longish par 4 (again dog leg). Finally a deceptively ultra short par 4 up the hill to the club house.
Special mention to the greens which are full of slopes and borrows.
A proper test
Fantastic reception at the pro shop on arrival.
The course is in great condition and a real challenge in the most fantastic setting. Just a joy!
Great Course
This is only the second time playing the course.
We had food prior to playing in a lovely friendly bar, the food was really ggod.
The pro shop staff were happy for us to play 30 mins earlier too.
The first hole looks ominous a long par 5 welcome to Skipton. A challenging 4th with a very high green.
Seemed like the front 13 had great fairways and greens and the back less so but still with great greens.
The course has great views throughout and great challenging holes which are really pretty.
Will be back but must try it in summer as i have only played in October and both times was wet grass but still played fantastic.
Skipton golf course

Skipton
Stunning scenery on this very good course .lots of different shots to be played .as a bag carrier it’s not to hilly .the 16 th par 3 is a amazing looking hole .love to play the course again .had a cup of coffee with some members after they made me fell very welcome .
Decent
Decent round overall, friendly staff but a few things let it down in our opinions.
The facilities midway looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks, no loo roll, thick spiders webs etc
Some of the holes it was hard to work out where the fairway started and the rough ended. The greens were for the most part in excellent condition.
One of the later holes had so many leaves blown over it you easily lost balls. I found 3 others in the middle of the fairway while looking for mine. I get it's an issue at this time of year, but when you factor in some of the other fairways it just felt like it had been a few days since it was touched up.
You could see the course had undergone some changes over recent years, and a few holes were really challenging. I'm looking at you Par 3 over a stream surrounded by out of bounds which was fun.
Friendliest welcome in golf
Skipton GC may go under the radar but it is well worth the trip. Possibly the friendliest welcome around (as mentioned in other reviews) with some very nice holes. This course isn't mentioned in the top 40 in Yorkshire but should be. You won't be bored! Lots of great tee shots, cracking greens and many green staff working keeping the course nice. £35 summer rate is very good value
Lovely course
Really friendly welcome. The course has undergone restructuring, but this did not detract from a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of golf. There are some difficult holes to negotiate. The views are brilliant and the general condition of the course was very good. I would return to play again
Friendly Staff
On holiday in Kettlewell and looking for a great course then look no further!
Nice course in good condition
Course in good condition despite long hot summer.Greens excellent.
Next tees not well signed causing problems for visitors.
Lots of steep green to tee walks
Layout completely confused sat nav
I would recommend but would not play again myself as lots of sloping fairways cause me problems.
Friendly members and nice restaurant
Beautiful golf course
Myself and my golfing partner played this beautiful course in fine spring weather. Our welcome in the pro shop typified our visit - very friendly and helpful. The course was in brilliant condition with the greens very smooth and true. A fair wind was blowing from the West which made some of the holes play a couple of clubs longer than normal but nothing that would affect a card. Some of the greens were elevated and sloped with nasty drop offs so accuracy to the pins and good putting was needed. Some of the holes were stunningly beautiful and the views all around amazing. The 15th with the stream in front of a very tight green was probably my favourite hole. If I had one criticism of the course it was that it had a few too many doglegs so a little local knowledge would allow you to know how much of the corners to cut off. A beer after on the patio served by friendly staff (again) ended a perfect round. Par 70: Handicap 14: Score 82
Nice course!!!
There has been a lot of work on the course so the course lay-out has changed which we was not informed about until we got there, will definatly go back once the course is fully open again!!!
