Lovely course
The course is as very wet after some terrible rain but the greens were still very very good and the pick and place fairway rule really helped with the wet and mud.
Really enjoy playing this course
Breezy, Blowy and a little slow
A second to visit to Bedale promised to be very enjoyable. Teeing off after 5pm however I found the light quite tricky, and spent time hunting for balls on those shots into the sun. The wind was up a bit which made distance control- and direction- a bit trickier.
Having had no one in front for the first 9 or so holes, the round ground to a halt. By the 16 I played the hole 4 times, walked to the 17th tee and the group in front still hadn’t even teed off. A normal round for me is 2h20-2h30 (knocking 2 balls usually). I was over 3.5 which felt like an age.
Still, for £15 for Twilight golf I’m not too vexed.
Tough course needing clearer signage
Played with my son for the first time. We are both fairly new to the game. The course is lovely, we did have a few winter greens which were disappointing in condition and size, the course isn’t clearly signposted and we did lose our way a few times, the local players were not at all surprised about that.
Lots of water obstacles, the greens in play were lovely, definitely a well considered lay out. Lots of trees and a really established feel to the whole course.
Just needs some better signage and a map
On the score card.
Course was in excellent condition from tee to green, members where all friendly and welcoming. Pace of play was excellent, was only held up on one approach shot but was let though by a lovely group of female members on the next tee.
A hidden gem
Excellent course layout, a good selection of varying holes.
A Good test of golf, with bunkers, ponds and streams situated throughout the course to catch your drives or any wayward shots.
Excellent service from staff, friendly members.
The only slight downside was the state of the buggies, old petrol style which were very temperamental when driving away. The first one we tried wouldn't start (no2).
The second one (no1) seat edges were ripped and buggy was a bit of a bone shaker.
Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our round and will definately return.
Beautiful Course
The course was very well presented, with fairways and greens being in great condition. The bunkering of many holes was well thought out and challenging.
Excellent course in perfect weather
At £30 this course is slightly more than I normally pay but we'll worth it. Such a great mature course with some challenging holes.
Good afternoon
We played after the Ladies open day, the course was excellent. Staff very helpful. Greens and fairways well manicured.
Nice Course if a little slow
I play Bedale quite regularly and always enjoy it. They have now removed all winter tees/ greens and mats which makes a huge difference. As a single player, I expect to catch people and don't necessarily expect to be let through. However, on this occasion, I was clearly following a 4 ball match play. All the way round, they took an age over every shot. At one point between the 11th and 12th, I took a seat on a bench for 20 mins to let them get ahead a bit. Caught them up again on 13th..... when their match ended on 16th (3 and 2) they proceeded to compare their cards on the green for 10 mins with me stood on the tee. Slightly bad form and I think one of them was the club captain but can't be 100% sure. I will be back though as overall its a great track.
Course in good nick
The course had held up really well in the recent wet weather. Course was challenging but fair, with it helping if you have a good long game, especially on the front nine.
Great little course
I was looking for a bargain option on my day off and found a gem here. Friendly bloke in the pro shop which was stocked with anything you needed for your round. It was fairway matts from 150 in from the fairway however I wasn’t on there much so didn’t use them often. A real variety of holes and the greens were in exceptional condition for any time of year never mind November. Leaves were an issue but not a lot they can do about that. Will definitely be back.
Very good value
Very good value at £13.00, course was a bit wet but playable.. greens excellent for time of year
Confusing layout
Quite an enjoyable course overall but lots of crossover of other fairways to reach the next tee, a few blind ditches too
Course was very well maintained and layout was challenging and interesting, a few walks between greens and next tee but overall an excellent round of golf
