Great course due to heavy rain was really wet in places but overall a great course
Great value winter golf
Another great round at Staverton. The course was suffering a little with the last 2 holes closed due to being waterlogged and trolley’s not permitted, although we were offered the chance to play 1, 15 and 16 again which would have enabled a 19 hole round. In the end 16 was sufficient and the overall condition was great.
Good challenging course
Course was in great condition for this time of year. Holes were challenging but looked great!
One point I’d make out would be better signs for which hole we are on. Walking from 9th to the 10th we did get lost. And was also not aware of the shared tee box for 9 and 18.
Very nice course for winter time!
Played this course Boxing Day after a very wet few days. Still using nearly every proper tee’s and all the greens. Even in the wet condition it was great to play and a nice lay out. Will be back in the summer!
Good course, layout good tho only real criticism is after 9 holes there’s a tiny sign on left under a tree directing you to tee 10… ( this was actually only seen when finishing on. 18th. Had to ask 2 staff members neither of which really knew… then found a sign on wall near range saying tee 10 and an arrow… might be prudent to keep pace of play in better weather to have a sign that’s larger…
Enjoyable day
Had a really nice day @staverton park golf club- considering all the rain we have had the course played well no temp tees or greens- also they allowed trolleys … course is fair test for all golfers… staff very friendly including pro shop & bar area so were members who I spoke to…. With the Golf Now app was able to play for a good price.- definitely b coming bk here… all in all an enjoyable day…
Decent
Greens were good for this time of year, always a pleasure/change to play stavertom but off the winter tees a 79 is acceptable
Pace of play
The golf course itself was in immaculate condition and enjoyed the round. However we ended up playing a round in about 6 hours, which is just not acceptable as groups ahead were very slow. I feel this needs to be monitored closely as we couldn’t play the last hole because we could not see anymore.
Agonisingly slow
Firstly we were paired up with another group. This needs to be clear if this is going to happen. Luckily they didn’t show. However as a 2 ball our round took 4.5 hours and we finished in darkness queuing all the way round. We were charged full rate, not a twilight rate. Totally unacceptable. The bar was closed when we finished our round too, just to round off an irritating day.
Also for some reason the tee boxes have no signs with hole number par and distance on. Presumably this is so you don’t realise how slow the pace of play is here.
We spoke to some locals who said it’s always like this, which is a shame as the course was in good condition generally and was nice to play.
Unlikely to come back.
Challenging not punishing.
A lot of walking green to tee. A buggy is must for us next time..some great holes and lots of bunkers but a fair course with large greens. Loose shots will be found but punished by trees or sand.. greens were very slow but fair.
Golf day
Booked golf day before I played- staverton is a lovely course which didn’t disappoint - clubhouse very friendly so really enjoyed the day… definitely recommend to play here-hopefully I’ll b back again soon…
Well manicured and interesting holes
A great course with country views, impressive trees, and lots of interest, set in gently rolling grounds. Plenty of well prepared bunkers, some water, and lots of doglegs.
Nice course, poor conditions
Greens super slow, fairways and first cut rough poor.
Greens, fairways and 1st cut rough played like they had not been cut for a few days. Spoiled the play.
Pace of play very slow 41/2 hours!!
Staff great, amenities good.
Great second round!
Fantastic course for the high handicapper. Greens in great shape and wide fairways help with driving confidence.
