Beautiful setting

A lovely mature course with greens in excellent condition for the time of year. Also good to see bunkers raked this time as hard as rock last time I was here. The fairways took some getting used to as no clear difference in grass height when compared to the rough. I can only assume they have not been cut for fear of frost at this time of year. Other players very courteous and as a single player I was allowed to play through a couple of times. Although this is expected golf etiquette, this is not always observed at other clubs I have played locally. I popped in the lovely clubhouse for a post game drink and received a nice welcome from staff and members.

Not great this time

The fairways were far too overgrown, the rough was very very long and dense. Most of the bunkers were GUR and the green speed was very inconsistent. I usually love playing this course but left very disappointed this time round.

Poor fairways

For £25 I never expect the best condition, however every fairway was playing like the rough! Being punished for hitting a fairway due to the lack of keeping just isn’t right! That’s if you can hit a fairway from the tee boxes which are basically grass-less.

Overall, a course that is probably better in summer but if you take your golf at all seriously, one to avoid despite the low price point

No food offering in the bar at 1pm although the offer to “knock us something up if the chef is happy” was given

Pleasantly surprised!

In much better condition than expected / was told to expect. Tee boxes terrible - as bad as Barnham Broom! But greens and fairways in very decent condition especially given recent weather. Would definitely play again.

Good but could be so much better

I live less than a mile away but this was my first time I played here. I played as a single player but was struck by how friendly other players were. The course is very technical but thoroughly enjoyable. The only downsides were the length of the grass on the fairways (like roughs on other courses) and the lack of sand in bunkers. With Longwater Gravel so close I can’t believe the bunkers were so devoid of sand🤔

Shame about the tees

A great course set in attractive parkland with some tricky holes to keep you on your toes. But the tees are dreadfully neglected, just patchy and poorly maintained. Greens slow and spongy but in good condition, and fairways not bad.

The course is so underaged in this area. Beautiful parkland course.

Beautiful setting

The course is a pleasure to play with a few quirky holes. The fairways and greens are in good condition greens a bit slow. Tee boxes are a bit rough these need attention. Staff friendly and members friendly

OK

The course is ok, tough in places, long in other places - not sure I'll be back in a hurry to play it again.
