Played the Vally course for the first time.
So played the Vally course in great condition for the first time, each hole was very well kept, But the problem was the holes have no number or signage and as the Hill course is built in around it just took the edge of if for me.
Yes no problem if you have played there before but for first timers it’s a bit more.
Good course spoilt by over crowding
Its a good course once you get out there and moving. The valley course is susceptible to flooding so I would avoid during wet periods. We booked 2 rounds across 2 days - one round on the valley and one on the hills course. When we arrived we were told they were operating a winter course - q4 holes from hill and 4 from valley because most of the valley was under water. It would have been nice to be told that before we got there but they said they don't make a call till the morning. Once out play was slow but the course had been taken care of with the holes on the hill draining off alot better. For £29 you cant really complain much and I would come back again avoiding wetter months
Superb day
Played the Valley course for the second time with my son for his birthday and yet again it did not disappoint. The course was in superb condition and every hole has it difficulties and uniqueness about them. A really good test. Picturesque with some quirky holes, eg the 7th. Ok so the time it took to get around was a little slow but they had a marshal going around the course to help speed things up who also sold drinks as it was a very hot day. We were there just to enjoy the day so not overly bothered about how long it took and once we finished I was disappointed it was all over. Absolutely love this place and sure to be back again sometime. It was the first time my son had played the course and he said it was by far the best he had ever played on.
The Valley Course - what a gem, especially hole 7
For April, it was in very good condition, just some bunker repair as GUR. Tricky course, lots of diverse holes and the 7th is so much fun - with the elevated tee on a par 3.
4 hour round on the dot and great atmosphere in their busy sports bar afterwards, to unwind. They have rooms too if you are not local...
Great Course
Fantastic Course, had a lot of rain in the area recently and was expecting it to be really wet, but it played really nice and the greens are in great shape, look forward to playing again soon.
Charity Golf Day
Took part in a golf day and Barnham Broom is a great facility for this sort of thing. There were a lot of golfers that day, but the venue was well organised and all refreshments were well received. The course played really well, especially for the time of year - great greens and well presented throughout. Some really nice signature holes, like the par 3 7th - overlooking the beautiful setting with magnificent views and a tee box elevated some 20m.
Great golf, venue and all the staff really friendly too. Well worth a visit.
Shut front 9 and all temporary greens
Turned up to play and was only told on the desk that all of the front 9 holes were shut on the valley and could play back 9 twice, asked about playing the hills course as seemed not worth it but was told had to wait 2hrs 48 mins for next tee off, so continued to play valley back 9.
Got to the course and all the greens were temporary and ruined the day for us even though the actual greens looked in pretty good nick.
Shame as is normally a lovely course and wasnt reimbursed any amount afterwards, poor customer service
Slow and abysmal
Course martials should of been present to prevent the round lasting 5 and a 1/4 hours! Slow play, took on too many people and large groups ahead causing a back log of 3 groups waiting to tee off one hole! Normally great course but ruined the day.
Days golf
For me and my bad knees and feet it was to hilly and the steps to the 7th tee box was very hurtful and the pathways very awkward and sometimes narrow
Regards Tony
A very good course with plenty of variety
The course is one of my favourites in the region and presents a stern test for all skill levels.
No two holes present the same challenge, and more often than not it's the cautious or sensible player who will walk away the winner.
They only issue is that it's a popular track so there is the very real danger of having to wait for holes to clear
Challenging course
Valley is an excellent course in very good condition, plenty of water hazards and various slops to test you. Staff very friendly and excellent services.
A great day!
We greatly enjoyed ourselves, the weather was beautiful, the course in good condition and very scenic. Perhpas a bit more hilly than we anticipated and some of the directions for the next tee not always clear. Some quirky holes so the next time we'll have a better idea on how to 'tackle' these......A fantastic day overall; lovely staff everywhere and good bar snacks. We look forward to going back

GREAT COURSE, BUT I HATE TEMPORARY GREENS
It was a fairly good day all round. However we (2 players) were stuck for a while behind 3 fourballs, though they all kindly called us through at some stage. My main gripe is that several of the greens were being tended by groundstaff meaning we had a number of temporary greens, which I hate. Putting out on the first green we were actually sharing the green with a groundsman spreading grass seed. Seriously! We weren't warned in advance or I might have chosen a different day.
Great course
Had a great round. Course excellent condition greens great after they thawed out!
An unexpected gem
I don't know why I waited so long to play this course, it's genuinely incredible. The course layout is one of the best I've played, with no two holes the same... long, short, narrow, wide, doglegs, straight, undulating, uphill, downhill, and none of the boring holes you so regularly come across (you know the ones, it's less a golf hole, more a 320 yard pitch and putt).
What really surprised me for a resort course was the quality of the greens, they ran absolutely true. If my putt went online... it went in the hole (except that one time where I stupidly left a 10ft par putt a foot short!).
It was very busy with a bunch of 4 balls so the pace of play was quite slow. Personally I don't really care about pace of play... I don't mind sitting an having a chat on the tee box! But it would probably have annoyed some of those speed tyrants on the courses. The bar was very pricey as well, not too big a fan of £9 for a cider, and an orange an lemonade, hence only 3 stars for that.
I will definitely be playing here more regularly. What a wonderful surprise.
