Great course with challenging holes

I didnt know what to expect if this 9 hole holiday park course but i was totally surprised at how good the course was, conditions, layout etc. Couldnt wait to play the same 9 over again to complete 18 holes. Great staff and beautiful looking clubhouse. Also has Driving range facilities too.

Overall a nice looking course

Played an early morning round on a Sunday, course was hard to follow to start off with as my GPS 'shot scope' was displaying wrong information for holes, but after speaking to green keeper he put me on right track, course used to be 18 according to him so set GPS to back 9 and all was fine. Course in good condition only thing let it down was lack of pitch mark repairs by other players, some greens damaged because of this. I must say some holes are quite picturesque and framed by trees very nicely. Overall i would recommend playing here.

Off chance Saturday game

Overall very good value and pleasant mature course. Some minor concern over tee positioning towards the end of the course near the range. My son and I were nearly hit by 2 stray balls. Perhaps club should look at better netting. Lovely facilities and good value course offering some challenging holes.

Course not great.

Fairways are ok, if a bit soft. Lack of sand in bunkers. No ball cleaners and greens have a lot of moss.
Feels like a add on facility to the holiday park.

Great all round course.

Boston West is a great all round course, not impossible to play but also not an easy course. The staff are always nice and the members are really friendly, I play solo a lot and I have never had any issues with speed of play. The course is well maintained, the fairways run nicely and the greens are in a good condition. The driving range is a good place to warm up before your round or practice your technique, with the addition of Toptracer where you can play games like longest drive or closest to the pin. The only thing that does get me is some people do not rake the bunkers or repair pitch marks, I know this happens everywhere but it does seem a little worse here, I have ended up plugged in a footprint several times. Overall I would recommend Boston West to all of my friends and family and in fact have done, we play every weekend.

Great layout

So I decided to go on golf now and book a tee time however all is not what as it seemed I booked this because it said it’s a 18 hole golf course and quite frankly it’s not it’s 9 holes, the bunkers were littered with grass and weeds growing in them making it impossible to play out of. The greens are not the best in the region and to advertise that it’s shocking and head green keepers from other golf clubs in the surrounding areas shouldnt loose business because of poor advertising from this golf club. I understand golf clubs right now are struggling with everything that’s been going on the past 18 months but this shouldn’t be happening! Great starter course for new players and a great layout and nice and flat for the older generation

Poor Quality Holes, Overpriced

The layout of the course itself is okay. Few holes are challenging especially with the bunkers. Unfortunately the bunkers are not well kept with weeds and even bushes growing from them. All it would take is someone to pull them out as they’re going round mowing. The tee box it well kept and repaired as well as the greens but the fairways are covered in weeds and this leads to thinning shots a lot. Also prices here are rediculous food and drink wise. £4.50 for a pint of coke! All in all not impressed. They also wouldn’t allow me to change my tee time for Sunday and said I had to cancel online. What they didn’t tell me is that I wouldn’t get a refund. Another £40 down the drain.

Poor condition - walked off after 5 holes

Greens bumpy and slow, fairways riddled with weeds, bunkers neglected, no rakes, no ball washers. Waste of money
The business seemed more interested in selling weddings, holiday static homes and food. Should be ploughing more money into the golf course as it's looking tired.
Walked off after 5 holes. Was surprised nobody asked why I was back in club house after 50 mins.

Perfect weather
Walked

Big fairways, undulating greens.

Still suffering from recent wet weather, the course is in generally good condition, but with bad patches. Some bunkers totally unplayable & some designated GUR. Greens well maintained & the undulating greens are difficult to read.

Long and challenging course

We played a 3 ball and for all of us it was the first time playing a round at this course and we were very impressed with layout of the course. Although a flat course it has plenty of hazards a bends to keep it interesting. The greens are particularly testing with different elevations.
