No wonder this course is only £7.50 for 9 holes, the fairways are badly kept. The greens might as well be made from hardcore chippings and the rough around the edges of the greens are more like a rain forest.
There is no brushes (for your trolley) at the end of the course let alone foot wear brushes.
And to top it off you have to pay £2.50 to park the car. Shocking course.
Nor playable
Great location well signposted
Course extremely boggy , mash. Fairways not cut so we lost balls on the fairway. T & greens just not maintained.
Lovely countryside could be a nice place
Don’t bother
Course is horrendous. That actual layout of the holes are decent fun holes to play but the course just isn’t taken care of at all. There is honestly no point in putting, you simply can’t due tot the conditions of the greens. Fairways are like being in the rough. You can stripe a ball perfectly down the middle and good luck finding your ball. Fairway grass hides your ball. The only good thing I can say about the course is that it’s good practice for shots out of the rough. Save yourself £6.50 and go somewhere else.
Without a doubt the worst golf course I have played
Arrived golf shop closed, visited the cafe sorted a tee time out payed to play and was given a tee time, arrived at the first tee ready to play for the clubs “secretary” to turn round half way down the first screeming get off the tee box us members are playing your a pedestrian. Stood by our tee time planning to go off when the group infront was out of sight for him to march back down again holding everybody up telling us we are not allowed to play untill they have finished they’re match as they have booked the whole morning and the person on the desk is wrong and clueless and ruins the game for him weekly…. Once allowed to play holes 1-9 tee boxes bunkers and greens are nothing more than a 2/10 absolutely shocking
Poor wouldn't waste you money
Course plays poor, the green are poor. It's often waterlogged.
This round all down the first tee was picnickers so was a case of aim round them.
don't be surprised to see walkers and dog walkers with no etiquette what so ever they forget you have paid to play here they are free riders.
Also be prepared for multiples playing with one set of clubs, I passed 1 three ball with one set of clubs, asked me play though so I did but as soon as id hit they was wacking balls at me.
I then come across a 6 ball with two sets of clubs.
Got to the Ninth hit my shot off the tee find some dog walker let there dog take my ball and still hadn't managed get it off there dog by time id walked to it.
Avoid theres lots better courses for the buttons more, failing that go range
The course was closed due to the weather however I was not informed until 3 hours after my Tee Time.
Actually a really decent course for £6,50
Nice layout with some good par 4's and good location of the bunkers and holes. The greens aren't so great but considering what you pay it's really not that bad. Nice little picthing area before you start as well with a putting green. Only downside as I said is the greens being abit neglected but other than that it's a nice little course to play.
Terrible
Booked after playing high Leigh and wanted to play another 9 somewhere else, £7.50 which seemed a bargain but the greens had tyre marks and long grass, poor tee boxes, boggy fairways. Would not recommend
Good course
Was a bit wet on a couple of the holes, as expected with the rain we had.
Would play well in the summer when dry
I will be playing again
Wet but fun.
Decent 9holes .. was very wet due to heavy rain night before but still playable. Club shop wasnt open on arrival to be able to pay for parking but was open on return .. easy enough to pay once its open … will return.
It’s as bad as everyone suggests
It’s a bit of a swamp tbh. Literally covered in leaves. Waterlogged. The greens are poor. There are more dog walkers that golglfers. Played the first hole and then packed up and left. It is only £6 or whatever so it’s not a value for money question but the course is simply unplayable. Staff were pleasant and maybe it’s better in the summer but don’t bother. There’s a reason it’s only a few quid to play. To add insult to injury, the car park is chargeable (cos it’s part of the flash) and they sold me an out of date bottle of pop !! 😂
Good for a practice 9 holes.
Good little course for the value, now on winter Tee’s & Green’s, but a great practice course
What more do you want for £7
So let’s get this right it’s £7 on a Saturday.
The course is the best drainage and the green needs attention.I took my 11 year old son who had never played a course before.and he wants to go again.
All the holes are a decent size and the last is very long.
Like most thing in life you get what you pay for,,
Can’t complain for £6
Course could do with some TLC. The fairways are ok, a few boggy patches around the sides and on a couple of pathways. Tee boxes and greens not great but not the worst I’ve seen. Can’t really complain at £6, I would definitely say its worth it. Good course for beginners.
There is an ice cream van, donut van and burger van in the car park most of the time so can fill your belly up before or after a round. The staff seem really nice and friendly.
Never any pencils for the scorecards so bring your own pencil or use a phone app
Potential to be a very good course
I took My son, 1st golf course experience a part from a par, I learnt to play on this course over 30 years a go, the course could be very good, not sure what the green keeper are doing, the greens, well they aren't greens that's a massive problem, it's a real shame as this could attract more business if looked after correctly, bunkers are shocking, what is happening with this course, disappointed with it really, needs TLC and ground staff who care.
Shocking greens
I wanted a practice 9 holes before an 18 hole late afternoon round. Whilst the 9 holes are pleasant in appearance the tee boxes, signage, practice facilities and off course amenities are very basic.
There was casual water on the course which after such a dry spell was unexpected (apparently it was built on a marsh). Worst is the greens which were the very slow, very bobbly and patchy.
For £6 my expectations weren't high and as an alternative target hitting exercise to the driving range it fit the bill. But if you come with the expectation of a well kept course I would look further afield. It doesn't pay justice to some good municipal courses such as my local Walton Hall.
Good course, just needs a little TLC
I love the course and its challenge, it's convenient and easy to park and staff are always friendly. The tees and greens need some TLC, but a nice course to get round in a couple of hours.
Fantastic value and well kept course
Had a brilliant round of golf there only 9 holes but can’t fault the course and it’s value for money, played behind and In front of members who were more than welcoming I will be visiting again
