Good learning experience

As a beginner it was a useful learning experience albeit a little confusing to start as to the layout of the course. Many of the holes overlap one another which is fine if you are confident with your golf but can be a bit intimidating as a beginner not wanting to hit anyone. I am glad to have gone at a quiet time of day. The course layout was really confusing in places as the greens and tees were not easy to find at all. They could do with some signs. (Anything would help)
The cut of the fairways felt long in places and didn’t help with the locating of the hole.
Having said that it was very good value for money.

This was the 1st time in years that I had played here. It seemed hillier than it was before, but I am sure that's just my old mind and body. Its a bit snug in places and several of the holes overlap each other, which I am sure will cause a few hold ups when busy. The course itself was drier than I thought it would be and in pretty good condition considering the time of year. My only real complaint is the lack of numbering on the holes and tees. If you don't know the course it would be difficult to work your way round. Very enjoyable morning and will be back

Harsh on the stars but a decent 9 hole (not 18) course.

I enjoyed the course but there are downsides as it is very compact.

The course facilities are very out dated and in need of a bit of work. The pro shop was closed and only found one person in the club house. Probably to do with lack of cash, maybe.

The course could do with better tee boxes (of which there are none) the tee identifiers are pretty much hidden if the grass hasn't been cut in a couple of days.

As a 9 hole course it is pretty decent although badly laid out, on a busy day you will spend a fair amount of time waiting to play, one because it's claimed you can play this as an 18 hole course. This is absolutely pointless as there isn't enough variation in the front and back 9 tees. The course should, in my opinion concentrate on being solely a 9 hole course.

The 2nd hole you need to wait until the 5th tee is clear, your approach shot to the 3rd may require a wait until the 4th tee is clear. The 5th you need to make sure the 8th fairway is clear, going from the 7th to 8th tee you cross over the 5th fairway. 2nd shot on the 8th you may have to wait until the 9th tee is clear. If you've read all that you can see there is the possibility of a lot of waiting.

On a quiet day the course is decent not much flat, repetitive holes which is great. The 1st tempts you to drive the green with the length but it's a blind shot. (Could do with a bell on the green)

The 2nd is a cheeky short PW but the green is a bugger.

3rd+4th, flat straight out and back.

5th dog leg right but most likely not for a driver, 2 x3 iron shots should get you over the pond and then onto the green.

6th short par 3.

7th drive able par 4 but again blind.

8th You'll need a decent drive otherwise you're stretching to avoid the front bunker on the approach to the green.

9th Blind par 3 with a massive green, make sure to note where it is when teeing off from the 1st.

Yes I'd recommend it but wouldn't have it as my home club.

Sleepy 9 hole in need of updating

Tunbridge Wells is an unusual 9 hole course. Varying difficulty of holes with some shared fairways. The course & facilities are in need of updating but it is cheap to play here, probably because of this

Historic

A 9 hole course quite hilly but ok. Greens were like a sodden carpet (it had just rained), some work to do in the signage both for the club from the road and on the course for the holes.

Lovely staff but clubhouse felt like a building frozen in 1978, not sure how (and if) this course covers its costs.
