Lack of maintenance
Surprised to find the course in poor condition considering the recent Covid lockdown when the course was not being used. The greens in particular were uneven and sandy, and the tees were in a similar condition
The clubhouse has had thousands spend on extensions, but they should have spent the money on the course as it is primarily a golf course and not just a building for weddings and other functions
Poor condition
After the lockdown I was expecting this course to be in great condition. It wasn’t! It was poor. some good work has taken place on thinning trees to speed up play but fairways were poorly mown, some tee boxes uneven and also poorly mown with long grass in places. One green was closed and there was lots of areas of dried (and wet in places) mud on and off the fairways.
Lovely course
The course was in pretty good condition. Some of the greens were a bit soft and damp, but that should improve through the season.
Badly maintained
The owners have taken advanrtage of the fact that people are desperate to get back to playing golf.
There were areas marked off as ground under repair that hadn't been attended at all and the greens were awful.
We won't be returning.
Don't waste your money you have been warned
I played park wood today 1st day back after lockdown.
It's the first and last time I will ever play this course.
The course is in dreadful condition.
The greens are probably the worst iv played on in 10 years.
I can understand the ground staff might not have been able to work during lockdown but to charge £35 to play here in unacceptable.
Every green is a mess.
Holentined, sandy, muddy ,patchy.
I'm not normally one to write a bad review but after paying £35 to play here for a 2 ball 4& half hour round I am trying to stop anyone wasting their time/money no matter how much you want to play golf.
Course in poor condition
I know I played just after lockdown but the course was in bits and we had to pay £40 for the privilege. Virtually no grass on the greens so were putting mainly on sand. Not worth £40 and should have been told about the state of the course when booking. Won't be going back anytime soon.
Has good holes
Had to play back nine twice, temporary t boxes which were closer to holes. Was carry only the course should of been closed. £35 a round was expensive for same 9 holes. Wasn’t told this when called pro shop to check it was open because of tier 4 . A reduced rate would of been a good gesture
Post lockdown
Course was very wet. only 10 holes open. Can't see why the Pro Tour uses it....
Lock-Down has an impact on course and amenities
Let’s face it we are automatically restricted because of COVID-19, driving range closed, Pro Shop closed and you cannot sit in side out of the cold to enjoy your food and drink, however the staff were excellent and welcoming.
The course was really muddy, bunkers under repair and I didn’t enjoy playing off of the winter mats, very hard to tee up....the green through were really quite good. The course is being prepared for a major event and therefore it will massively improve over the coming months.
Weather conditions aside it’s a good course, I enjoyed playing and will return in the summer months.
Perhaps reduced prices due to conditions would have been more favourable.
Covid
We were welcomed when we arrived and the money was taken, we played our round which was enjoyable then decided to have a coffee after the round. This is where we were made to feel unwelcome, after ordering and paying we were asked what tier we lived in and when we said 2 we were asked to sit on the patio in the cold.
Not very hospitable but happy to take our money.
Does COVID stop at borders to counties and areas, I think not.
Very pleasant days golf at Park Wood
Very enjoyable days golf at Park Wood. Sunny but windy weather. Tree lined fairways looked magnificent with Autumn colours.Fairways in good condition and greens true and fast..Course was quiet so Pace of play was good.. Bar staff helpful and pleasant. Covid restrictions in place and clearly signed.
