Good layout - excellent greens - a number of fairways have multiple 6" wide unfilled irrigation drainage running across them - one of our group was unable to join us but Golf Now does not permit refunds - I wont be using Golf Now again!

Terrible

We played the old course tee off at 10.08 and had a 5 hour round - including missing a hole as there were 5 people in front of us. Only 4 playing so slow.
On the back nine there weren’t any fairway just rough and groves all over the course. See the photos of what is supposed to be a fairway.
We paid £60 and feel totally ripped off - don’t play here and waste your money.
If GolfNow are selling the course please check them out firstly. We deserve a refund.

Essendon country club

As described in the overview. i played the old course and i really enjoyed it. Although fairways are still recovering from all the rain in May. Greens in very good condition but not that fast yet. I played off yellow tees . I did not find it too difficult apart from my shotscope watch showed the wrong yardages! Staff i met were very welcoming snd helpful.

Slow play!

A warm and informative welcome from the reception staff was an encouraging start and the first 5 holes passed without incident. We and the pair in front then ran into a mixed four ball who exhibited the worst display of slow play for the rest of the round. Potentially this was a club match with no hint of letting others through there is never any excuse for slow play. They were either oblivious or did not care. Our round ended up taking over 4.5hrs for a 2 ball and ruined any chance of getting any consistency going. What ever happened to course marshals to keep up the pace of play?!
The course itself is fine with some interesting holes although £45 is too much when compared to its peers. A tee off after 3pm would have been £35 which is about right for the standard of the course and we probably would have finished at the same time!
