Enjoyable course
Course was in good condition for the most part. Tight in places, open in others. Some quite challenging holes too. Overall a nice place to play.
Slow pace of play
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to play 18 holes as we had to skip from the 5th to the 9th as the society in front of us took 1hr15mins to play 4 holes. The pace of play was unbelievably slow.
Southwick
Very varied course great for all types of handicaps
Great course tucked away in Hampshire
Course was in great condition.
Tee boxes were well-kept, fairways were firm but receptive and the greens were quick and consistent throughout.
Great value and a good challenge.
Realised 18 holes for £15 was a bargain when I arrived. Well stocked shop and very nice putting green. Course in really good condition despite recent heavy rain. Challenging enough for me (playing consistently for 18 months) with tight out of bounds and narrow treed corridors to drive through an a couple of holes. Favourite section was par 3 15 and then teeing off along side the ruined Monastery at 16.
Amazing course but….
Absolute lovely course and great value for money, the only thing I would say is there driving range is a bit sly, you use your own balls and you can walk to get them if you want them back, I wish they just had a ball dispenser, played here about 5 times now and coming to play again tomorrow, lovely greens and some great approaches 9.5 out of 10
Amazing course and greens
This course is a little gem, every part of the course is well looked after, greens are amazing and the course itself has some really good holes, the only thing I would say is the driving range hasn’t got range balls but you can hit your own balls 250-+ if your whiling to walk down and get them afterwards, no practice net either from what I could see.
first timer
Nice course with some reasonably tight fairways, nothing overly long although it was playing fairly slow even though we've had a long spell of dry weather, it was in very good condition with lush green fairways, perhaps as it's below Portsdown hills it gets the water run off from there, as the ball jut wasn't running as much as the previous weeks course, nice true greens with good speed, will be playing again for sure
Monday Golf
We really enjoyed our round played at Southwick from a friendly welcome in the Pro-Shop upon our arrival to the post round pint in the Clubhouse we were made to feel at home.
The course layout requires a good bit of thought with well placed streams and ditches, the greens were true, the tees have obviously suffered due to the recent hot spell but there was clear evidence of the Greenstaff’s work on these areas to bring them back to match the standard of the rest of the course. Thank you Southwick Golf Club.
Hollow tinedf greens
Realised why such a cheap price.shame as putting was a lottery on heavily sandex greens
Super value
Excellent value for money. Course condition was good, greens were super smooth and a pleasure to putt on.. Only 1 par-5 on the course but a lot of variety and character to the par 4s. Will play there again without hesitation.
Great day in the sun....
Had a very pleasant late Saturday afternoon round here, 3.5hrs round, so pretty good pace, some make and break holes, interesting layout in places, little ditches and water to navigate around along with some tighter fairways and plenty of trees!
Couple of lovely shorter par 3s.
Greens had a fair bit of sand on them but they weren't too bad....
Lovely surprise
Just wanted to find a round of golf without spending too much so came across Southwark Park and took advantage of the £28.00 sunset rate. Didn't have to higher expectations but WOW what a fabulous surprise. )Ive played for over 50 years and spent 30 of them as a teaching professional). A fabulous layout with some really great holes, the fourth possibly my favourite, intimidating dogleg tee shot off the tee with water in front of the green. Fabulous 18th also. Fab condition given these current times. Treat yourself, extremely enjoyable and well worth a visit. Maybe my age now but it played longer than the card. We played off the whites which added a greater challenge from the tee. I will 100% be returning.
