Course closed
They rang me up 2 hours before we were ment to play to say they closed the course promised me a refund through golf now still waiting for that
the worst thing was the course was still available on golf now app with all the tee times
This is not a bad review of the course more this app
Great features
Some surprising holes with water didn't expect, well guarded greens with large bunkers.
Course not too hilly for older players
Very disappointed!
Half the course temporary greens with no indication from club house or staff.
Very very boggy and nearly all tees are off artificial matts.
Do not play until the summer and dry weather has arrived.
Driving range was closed for no obvious reason. Generally facilities looking very worse for wear with tennis courts in a state of disrepair. Investment needed in the course.
Quagmire
The course shouldn’t have been open. Lost many balls that landed on the fairway as the ball simply sank into the surface, never to be found again. Terrible. Gave up after 11 holes
Great day golfing
Staff were good we ere there a bit early so they asked if we want to go out play was good pace no waiting
Recommend a round
Good round of golf
Unfortunately the original booking was changed and no one had told us, the staff at the shop said it was a common thing and they were unperturbed that we would have to wait a further twenty minutes. Fortunately the course superintendent got us on the course at 1235. The course was playing heavy due to the rain during the week, but it was very enjoyable and hard!
Would recommend playing it to anyone
Gary
Great price, good course. Tee boxes ropey and most off mats, which were poor quality and also struggled to get tees in them. Greens needed rolling but for the time of year reasonably well kept.
Value for Money
Booked through Golfpass and deal was a lot less than club price. Very good and testing course, greens were a bit hairy and slow. Players met on course were very friendly and no issue with joining in with them
Fairways need a trim
Autumn weather lots of leaves and fallen bits of trees on greens, fairway grass was too long needs trimming. Mowers were out as we played which is probably why the price was cheaper than usual. All in all good value for a course that is quite nice to play in the spring/summer.
Would go back
First time playing Meon Valley and it's a great course and one I would recommend to friends or anyone and I would also go back myself, staff really friendly and a lovely set up as well.
Only negatives would be that areas of the fairways need some attention with little or no grass, the tee boxes are huge in length and then they are punished by the tee pegs being the width of the tee box so the grass is non existing instead of moving the tee pegs about more frequent.
The green side bunkers need some attention with alot if stones in them but they just need more sand and some love really, apart from that a great course and my dad and myself had a great time
Golf on sunday
Pace of play was slow and the course was understandably dry and scorched
Biggest problem was lack of etiquette from other golfers - not calling fire - nearly got hit three times whilst on our fairway!
Nice course great for low-mid handicap players
Had fun playing this course, a good course for low-mid handicap players.
