Great but challenging course
Really enjoyed the course at Oldham, really pushed us
Beautiful views
Booked with golf now for 2 of us for a great price. Arrived at the club shop to be met with a really friendly lady to book us in who told us we could tee off as soon as we were ready. The course was in lovely condition, and each hole and tee was clearly marked out. The fairways are really narrow In places and if you miss them 90% chance your getting a new ball out. The course is really hilly so if you struggle with your fitness it won't be a good course to play. As you get to the back 9 there's some beautiful views across Greater Manchester, alot of the holes you play blind as you can't see the flags but there are markers on the fairways to help you. All the greens were in good condition some running fast and some slow making it hard to read each green. Finished the round off with a nice cold pint from the clubhouse sat in the sun. All in all we had a great afternoon on probably the most challenging course we've ever played.
Oldham Golf
Very good value . The greens are in Fantastic condition but the the tee Boxes were not the best and the signage needs some direction arrows to help you to the next tee overall great course .
We played early on a Sunday morning and course was in great condition, we really enjoyed our round.
Pro Shop not open - a supply of scorecards would have been helpful. However course well marked so not a massive issue.
Challenging walk
This is the first time I had played Oldham Golf Course and was aware that the last 9 holes were 'hilly'. The course was in good condition and there were some holes where local knowledge would have been handy. Overall I enjoyed the course but the holes on the higher ground caught up with me by the end when I felt tired. That said I would certainly recommend it to friends as the course was good to play
Very underrated course
Very enjoyable round, front nine relatively straightforward the back nine mostly rests on a hill so the fairways are sloped and some of the holes are out of sight from the tee. The best holes are 2,4 and 17 however they are all great.
Confusing layout on back 9 with greens sharing 2 flags with no instructions as to which should be played .
Fairways on severe slope leaving good shots kicked into rough
Amazing views and testing course
2nd time playing this course. 1st was just after lockdown and the greens weren’t great. This time though everything was better so obviously staff back doing a great job. Greens still a little bobbly and a few tee boxes could do with flattening out but all in all it’s a good course. Plenty challenging holes especially on the back 9 as you start to climb into the hills. The 17th has an amazing view towards Manchester as you drive back down to the clubhouse. Will definitely play again
Worth a visit
Very friendly staff with warm welcome
Course was in great condition coming out of winter ready for summer
fast greens
front 9 parkland feel with back 9 moorland with undulating fairways
great views of the area
worth a visit
Great value, superb views
Oldham is a good challenging course for all abilities. Front 9 plays fairly flat, the back 9 more undulating with superb views from 10 onwards.
A friendly, relaxed club with good people on board
Not bad for the price. Back 9 is mega hilly. No practice facilities at all though
Good but could be so much better
The greens are bobbly and sandy and the tee boxes are very uneven which is a shame but overall it’s not a bad course. The back 9 rise into the hills giving some excellent views. Quite a number of blind holes so it was difficult to judge what to do considering it was the first time playing this course so will return again to give it another go. All in all an ok course that’s clearly been hit hard by the pandemic
Oldham Golf Club
First round after lockdown. Easy to book, no queuing, no waiting on tees. The greens were a bit bumpy. The fairways in good condition. The course is basically split into two. First 8 are all pretty flat. The next 10 are mostly either uphill or across a hill with either a left to right or right to left slope on the fairways and consequently you had to be very straight to avoid running off into the rough. There were a number of holes were you couldn’t see the flag.
All in all an enjoyable if hilly course. Wouldn’t like to play it in a strong wind, it was hard enough with 16 mph gusts. Would definitely play again now I know where the greens and traps are. Well worth £15. Very friendly staff and members.

Lovely course and 1st time playing here, leave your driver at home would be my advice!
