Too cramped

Greens are probably the best in the area. No information anywhere about scorecards. I was told to just go and play and then later I stopped to check my booking. This is not acceptable. You either have resources to check in players when they go on course rather than checking their booking whilst they are playing. The course layout is not compatible with Garmin golf watch information about the course. My friend nearly missed being hit by a golf ball. No warning from your golfers who were behind us. On round 13 there is no way golfers on the other side can tell whether someone is on the green. Again a near miss by a golf ball.

Perfect weather
Walked

Nice course, quite short

Front 9 is a bit longer perhaps and although there are a couple of long holes with carry over water, most par 4s are a mid-iron and wedge for a solid player. Nice course to practise and focus on accuracy but not the most challenging.

poor course friendly members

Good point. the members where very friendly and welcoming on and off the course. The fairways where in pretty good despite the rain.

Bad, poor layout its all just so flat very boring looking holes, it being so flat there is no where for the water to go when it rains a lot of the fairways where all water logged. very poor signpost between holes i kept getting lost. But for £14

Great course but keep your wits about you

Actually loved the layout but if you are new to this course the layout could be considered dangerous on some holes due to blind approach shots, crossovers and tee boxes close to greens

That said we enjoyed it, staff and members very hospitable and one to play again in the summer months. Recommended

Tough little course, nobody home.

Pros
- Fairly tidy little course
- Good for people who want to push their pacing and driving accuracy
- Fairly short walks between holes
- Cheap
- Beautiful tame foxes everywhere
- Extremely capable greenkeeper looking after the course keeping sand raked and greens/fairways tidy

Cons
- Clubhouse not open untile weekends and nobody to greet you (make sure you bring drinks and snacks!)
- Poor signage
- Many crossing fairways
- Brutally close fairways, felt like I was at risk of hitting others at several points (I'm not the best driver) so had to give people plenty of space but being so fast paced you can't wait around for long
- Couple of blind holes
- Only championship and red tees (was told it's no big deal but I'm not the best driver)

Overall a nice little course. Maybe not for people of my skill level dude to pressures of people getting behind you, constant crossing or parallel fairways. No access to shop or clubhouse during week which isn't explained on their website or Facebook (don't try and call them). Turned up and it looked closed. If you're a decent player this is a cheap and interesting course recommended for quieter days such as weekday evenings. Would like to return on the weekend and see what the club is like when it's a bit more alive but expect to be too pressured for a player like me.

Very friendly but very easy

On a tough course I am a 25 handicapper but shot 10 over this day,
Course is very easy, as long as you hit it straight but some of the holes were quite fun to play.
Lots of great par 3's to play.
Pace was an issue and some players were holding up the day.
But this is a great course in London, and was great value.
People were very friendly, from arriving to leaving the staff and other members were great.
Please check this course out.

In the Neighborhood and near the Highway course in London

I had my Uber drop me off at the front entrance of the course which is located on a
ordinary neighborhood street, and if you blink you’ll miss the entrance. Lol. Once I checked in I proceeded to walk across the A406 and ended up at hole #1 to start my round. This is one of the quirkiest courses I’ve ever played, but boy was it fun for me. The fairways are pretty straight and lots of trees, but what a challenge for an intermediate golfer such as myself. If your one of those golfers that like to play odd golf courses then this one is for you. Onto the best part of the round which had to be the 19th hole. The bar staff was excellent and I got to meet the chairman of the golf Club and a few members who treated me as a honorary member for the day. The drinks were an awesome price also! Please check this place out and see for yourself. It’s a lot of fun.

Great course, found the layout a bit tricky, ie where to go etc, but maybe this was down to it being our first time, would certainly go there again

Nice compact course

Nice compact course in the heart of East London. A bit short so not for the golfer that likes to use driver on every par 4/5. Really tests your accuracy and short game. Great greens. Recommended.

Lovely course

Although Ilford is one of the shorter courses it offers a good selection of holes to challenge all golfers. The greens were excellent and consistent throughout and the fairways are well managed.
Although not that busy on the day we played the pace of play was good.
I would recommend this course both for the quality of the holes and also price. £15 for 18 holes midweek is excellent value for money
