Waterlogged
Course was not playable it was waterlogged, but still opens, so I gave £17.50 away
Nice public course
An enjoyable 18 holes. The course is very forgiving so its good to play if you are a high handicapper. Greens in very good conditions. Well be back to play again.
Shut
Booked on tee of times for 26th Dec. I got there and course was shut. UnHappy xmas I hope to get my money back soon
. I will keep you posted
A little bit disappointed
Having grew up playing this course, this has always been one that we love and look forward to returning to. Despite the greens generally being in good condition, there was one particular hole that looked like it’s been vandalised. Also, although we are fully aware that this course has public access, it appears not all the general public are aware that they are on a golf course. For example, we were playing on the 9th hole and there’s a family sitting on the green watching their kid play with the flag. Then on the 16th, a man was playing with his dog in the bunker not realising we were trying to tee off and then we witnessed a man cycle over the 2nd green.
A good course for high handicappers
I play this course quite often. Its easy to navigate your way round with nice wide fairways and the greens are in a fairly decent state. The staff are friendly and its reasonable value for money. Some of the holes are a bit similar but fairly testing. Its quite quiet on a weekday afternoon and sometimes ive had pretty much the course to myself. A few things to improve would be to install ball washers as there are none at present. Bunkers are like concrete at this time of year and be prepared to sometimes wait for dog walkers to clear the fairways.
an easy walk
I chose this course as a I was in the area and was aware I could get on straight away I expected to pay around £12 but ended up paying £19. was told this was a municipal course so expected it to be cheaper, considering the price there are better value/condition courses around to play.A nice first hole with an elevated tee leads to a fairly flat course with occasional uphill greens midway there are a few gentle uphill holes followed by several flat holes towards the end of the round finishing with a small hike to the 17th tee and an uphill finish to the 18th.Fairways were generous and generally gc, greens were good but slow, tee boxes ok. Changing rooms for members only, plenty free parking, good clubhouse with views, lots of wildlife including flocks of parrots
A nice London course
Finding affordable courses for 'non-golf course members' in London can be a little tricky - Stand up Brent Valley golf club.
It was the second time playing the course and was still enjoyable. There are a few similar holes on the front 9 but the course is well maintained and challenging enough for a new-mid starter to the game. You'll even find a couple of Par 4 greens accessable in 1 shot - nice birdy/eagle territory.
There are plenty of bunkers and some water hazards which keep you on your toes.
The greens are well kept and the rough is looked after.
The course is open so you'll see plenty of people walking besides or across holes and the occasional dog wandering onto the course. Because the weather was so nice, a small group of people had decided to have a picnic on one of the tee-off points. You just need to be aware of them and make sure you ask them to step aside to let you play through. You might even be lucky enough to be approached by someone on a bicycle trying to sell you golfballs. You could potentially be buying your own lost ball back.
But saying all of that, it's a nice affordable course. It's open and picturesque.
You can hire trolleys and they have a small selection of golf items to purchase if you've forgotten anything.
To top it off the 19th hole has a lovely outside area that overlooks part of the course. A perfect view for a well deserved end of round beer.
Go on, give it a go!
Not remarkable, but very close to central London
Mix feelings with the Course.
As positive, short one (2:45 1-ball) very close to Central London. Fairways/Bunkers in fantastic condition, Greens firm and paths are very well marked. BTW, 14th Hole is a beauty, pity is the only one I will remember.
Not as positive: grass a bit tall on the tee's, and not particularly remarkable course where some holes are very samish. Easy course with no much danger and can get away with almost any driver that goes forward. Greens are very flat easy to read.
As a summary, not bad value for money taking into account location, ideal for begginers or to get your golf fix sorted, but not remarkable in any way.
