Good Course
Always fun to play. Some tricky holes but great value. It's good to play as a singleton as well. No pressure.
Playgolf Bournemouth
For the money and area a decent place to have a round of golf. Can tell from those playing it does seem to encourage younger players to get into golf which is good. As for conditions and appreciate weather was very wet last week and dry and warm this week, not so great. The fairways has grass at different lengths and a bit patchy, though some may be drainage issues. First green heavily pecked by crows but rest ok. Bunkers weren’t great with some baked in bottom and patchy bits of sand . Cafe and bar were nice and good service.
Wet
The course has standing water in places and one or two areas is boggy, but this did not really affect the game. Overall its a good course.
Iford
Spent a nice Friday afternoon at PlayGolf Bournemouth. The course was well presented & we had a very enjoyable round of golf. I would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks
Gods condition
Probably the best condition I’ve played this course, greens were very good
Better than normal
The course was the best condition I’ve played for a long while, even got played through by two groups so got round in just under 3 hours
Play golf
Course was in good condition, staff very helpful only slight moan was pace of few groups in front and in my opinion was due to them sharing buggies so zigzagging across fairways to take each others shots.
But overall very happy
Is what it is
First visit and would happily go again ...... We would normally play various other courses but were restricted in our choice as quite rightly they were prioritising members after lockdown was lifted. Also we wanted to break ourselves back in gently so chose a shorter/easier course.
The course is quite open and golfer friendly and was in pretty decent condition although we could tell you wouldn’t want to play this in the wet. Greens an putting were fine and true but can’t comment on bunkers as didn’t go in one all day.
Our expectations weren’t high but we came away with a positive feel from the course and will definitely return. It’s a reasonably priced round of golf, a bit of a confidence booster as fairly easy and the scenery is interesting and easy on the eye .... Go try for yourselves Happy Golfing
Post lockdown round
Played on the Tuesday after Mondays lockdown had been lifted. Brilliant weather for game of golf and was excited to be playing again after what's been going on. That being said, I thought the course was in poor condition, lack of sand in some bunkers, huge patches of repair ground (without GUR signs), bumby greens that could have been shorter length too.
Pace of play was very slow but probably to be expected 2 days after reopening.
Staff were friendly, value for money was pretty good but I probably should have paid a bit more money to get better conditions elsewhere in Bournemouth.
Sunny weather and an Eagle at 17 helped the enjoyment some what!
Greens need work
Great value (especially with so many course jacking up their prices post-lockdown) but it’s busy (faur enough) and the greens need a fair bit of work. They are super soft and incredibly bumpy - almost mottled. Not sure why - they are usually ok.
Very decent municipal
A few nicely designed holes, fairways were a touch barren on other holes, but decent greens especially for the time of year. Would recommend
Improvement
Played this course for the first time in over a year; admit I was worried after some recent reviews. However the greens were in the best form I had ever seen them (I played this course regularly a few years back). The negative was the pace of play, 4.5hrs for a round wasn’t expected, and this was due to no one letting anyone play through. We followed a two ball who were behind two four balls.
This course gets a lot of traffic, so fairways damage was expected but they do need some more work, but you can see the work in progress happening. Well done green keeps
