A must play course
The course quality was fantastic and very well maintained. The views of the coast and out to see are breathtaking and hard to beat. When I’m next in the area I wouldn’t hesitate to play Lyme Regis again.
pat
excellent course in perfect condition with stunning views
Some stunning coastal views
Not my first time playing here, but always a friendly welcome. The course was in superb condition and weather perfect. Even though I was a one ball, players let me through and the pace of play was good. Look out for the views on the 16th green, just breathtaking. Can't recommend enough.
Lyme Regis
Enjoyed the course, Although would have been disappointed if I'd paid a full rate green fee. Fairways had been scarified and the excess grass just left on both sides of the Fairways. Difficult to find your back if you went in it. Greens had also been tinef, so very slow. Maintenance has to be done but this was not flagged up when I booked. Views however were stunning. Managed to play 15 holes in dry conditions before we got some light rain.
Unfortunately the course was under maintenance and we hadn't been advised of this by Golf Now, so there were a lot of temporary greens. If we had been advised we would have left going there on 21st September and booked another day.
Exceptional
First visit to this course after many years thinking about it. Really impressed with the maintenance and quality of everything about this place; it's a gem. Even high-handicappers like me can get some breaks on it plus the views are spectacular and if you're open to the transcendental, sometimes the golf doesn't matter... I'd join of I lived nearer... ❤️
Great course
From the time we arrived to leaving a great day. Kitchen not open until 10 but barman offered bacon and sausage baps.
Friendly members offered advice while eating breakfast.
If you like fast greens come and play here.
Fantastic greens
This course has been on our must play list for a while so we paid a bit more than we usually would for the only tee time available of 10 30
The course is a good mix of links and parkland and a good but fair challenge for all The greens were amazing, fast and in great condition
A special mention too for the staff member who sorted our pre round breakfast and was very helpful throughout
Course with a view.
Lovely day and enjoyable course with excellent views of Lyme and the coast from several holes.
We played with a Golfpass credit for £15, so massively discounted from the usual day rate.
Recent rain means the grass condition is very good on fairways, greens, and rough! Layout is fine but quite tight in places, so expect other golfers on your fairways occasionally.
Enjoyed the doglegs at 4, 5 and 15.
Followed a 4 ball who had a couple of walkers with them, clueless of golf etiquette. They would dawdle on the green after the golfers had left! Soon called to play through so that eased the blood pressure.
A great improvement on our previous visit when it blew a gale and was almost impossible to stand up near the cliff top, and the balls were blow away on the green at 16!
Nice course, I recommend it.
West Dorset at it best , great course for all levels , long par 4 and tricky par 3 all over the course ,
Fine game played at Lyme Regis golf course , lovely course and beautiful layout , well organised club , well worth a visit if your in west Dorset
Wet Wednesday
Beautiful golf course , easy to challenging holes , Lyme Regis golf is a must to play if your in the area , On a fine sunny day the views are amazing , from the first green you can see along the Jurassic coast line towards west bay and beyond, but beware when the local weather is low clouds and mist the course is shut and this can be very disappointing but hopefully your day will be great , got soaked on Wednesday 7 holes of ok weather then the mist and rain came in , walked in after 10 , but will be back soon
Paying for the views
Played Lyme Regis for the first time.
Store staff were lovely. Course layout was a bit off whack as we struggled finding some tees but the scorecard did have a map to keep reference. The course conditions however were atrocious! Hitting the fairway in some places felt like a punishment. The bunkers were really well kept however tee boxes not looked after fairways that were well under par and the greens were ok. I've played axcliffe and cricket St Thomas and both of those courses in my opinion were better.
Another note would be some of the members were less than welcome to new comers and as my playing partner today hadn't been playing long a lot of them also were less accepting of him having a couple Duff shots here and there.
Nice surprise
We found the course in great condition with super fairways and fast true greens. Allow some additional time if you plan to hit a few balls first as driving range is a short drive up the road.
