Wonderful isle of Purbeck!

Played for the second time - first was last August. Greens quick and challenging, fairways were good and tees were top class. A brilliant enjoyable and great value experience! Views to the coast were the most spectacular I have seen anywhere on my golfing travels.

A delight

Played The Isle of Purbeck course on a sunny but blustery day. Apart from a few muddy patches, the course was as beautiful as anticipated. The wind definitely played its role; massive drives with it behind you, less than impressive when it was in your face. The tilting fairways make you think and seriously consider your course management. Stray from the fairways and the rough, in the forms of heather and gorse, will simply consume your ball. Once on the green, the contours and undulations will test you further. Get the pace right or be prepared to pay the price. Will I be lay it again? Of course I will!

Great day out

When we arrived it was carry only( check website) so the shop pro kindly lent us 2 bags, it’s a great course, there were 4 temp greens but this didn’t detract from the overall experience, the views as always are stunning, and it’s one of my favourite courses for sure, always a challenge with the wind if it’s up, which it was .
Definitely recommend it, and if you get a lucky day with the weather it’s hard to beat, not sure it’s a £60 plus round in summer but that’s the way golfs going ( expensive)

Challenging Course with Spectacular Views

I've been looking forward to playing this course for several years, coordinating the other playing partners being the only factor delaying the experience.

I was advised to play when wind speeds were low, which was an important selection date, and good advice. The weather was beautiful and better than expected on the day, and this further enhanced the spectacular views over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island.

Probably the most difficult course I've played due to the high risk of lost balls when a shot doesn't go to plan, but familiarity would probably make it easier with future rounds.

What a course!!

It's clear to see the course has suffered over the winter with all the rain but in my opinion it's has now turned a corner for the better.
The course layout itself is amazing and a true test of golf. The greens were running slow but true. The fairways have had some work done on them and the grass is now starting to come back.

All in all I would say that the Isle of Purbeck has just made it into my top 10 courses ever!!!

Beautiful views shame about the condition

First of all the tees and greens were in very good condition BUT the fairways were bare very little grass and placing to help you get a lie. There are a lot of blind shots. This could be a great golf course but it needs a lot of TLC to get it back.

Isle Of Purbeck

We played this course as my father used to be a member many years ago. The course was very tricky & there are many holes that you have to hit good drives to stay in the hole.
Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and the staff in the bar afterwards were chatty & friendly.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
PS the views are spectacular.

Should be brilliant

Fantastic setting, great layout, beautiful weather. Just unfortunate that the condition of the course was not great. Greens fairly poor and fairways bare.

Beautiful Location

Amazing location! Greens were in poor condition and generally the course needs some TLC to bring it upto to where it should! Course is a great layout very in tight in need to be driving straight off the tee m, places definitely recommend a purchasing a stroke saver if you've never played here before. Hopefully the course condition improves soon as its such amazing place to play golf in.
