Bowood Park Hotel & Golf Club

3 x 18 handicap golfers played today, weather and course beautiful. Course very attackable if you put the ball in the right areas, anything offline was penalised. Greens in great conditions. Been a long time since I have played Bowood wont leave it quite so long before returning.

Holiday down Cornwall 3 or 4 times a year (to the same place)and have played all of the local courses. For some reason I never realised Bowood Park was the closest or even heard of it. I manage to get a tee time for the excellent value of £15. The course was in great condition considering the rain we have had of late, and I absolutely loved the lay out complete contrast in the two nines. Front nine more open and back nine plays slightly tighter with more of a premium on accuracy. Brilliant mixture of holes great par 3s elevation changes( favourites holes 12th) Think it will now be my go to course when I’m on holiday. Couldn’t praise it enough

We were looking for a course near to where we were staying in Cornwall and found Bowood on GolfNow. When we arrived we were greeted by Max in the pro shop who was friendly and helpful and he sorted out a buggy for us and explained the facilities to us. We had a drink and sandwich from the bar, service was good and quick and food was excellent. We enjoyed the course and the course guide came in useful as we navigated what we thought was a well thought out course in great condition. We sat on the terrace in the evening sunshine and had a drink before we left Thank you Bowood for a great experience, we’ll be back when next in Cornwall!

Phoned up the afternoon before playing on Saturday morning and was told early bird was only weekdays but if we got there when the pro shop opened at 8 they would let us out early for that price which I was extremely grateful for. Tee’d off and loved every hole, especially the 7th 600 yard par 5. Greens in great condition and some very nice houses dotted around the course which make it pleasing on the eye. Some challenging tight fairways and some accuracy needed when pitching onto greens but don’t let this put you off. This course is amazing and I’m still amazed at how cheap a round of golf is here!! Well done to the green keepers.

The course was in excellent condition for the time of the year and considering the weather we have had recently .

This was our first visit to this course - we will be going back! Lovely design and 2 very different sets of 9 holes.
Our only criticism was that the greens were very firm.

Played whilst on Easter weekend with family... Great course, all the holes were different and interesting. Well kept. Didn't feel overcrowded despite local society playing whilst I was there. Greens were generally excellent - pretty quick considering it wasn't particularly sunny and only April. Would recommend the course to anyone visiting the area.

Played here for the first time after always driving past while on holiday. Course was very nice and the condition was excellent for the time of the year. Only thing that let the course down was the unhelpful staff in the Pro shop. The gentlemen was less that approachable and was very hard work.

Worth playing just a shame about the staff in the shop.

Lovely course. Long walk but well worth it. Great food in the bar after too. Will definitely revisit next time in Cornwall

The front nine, a very open looking nine which leads you to believe you can open shoulders, but to score well you have to be find the fairway. The wide first cut enables you to find the ball with ease, but you are penalised by clubbing down to ensure you recover. The back nine is a different story much tighter holes 10,11,12,13, provides a run of high quality holes that will make or break your round. Great value, a course in excellent and fair condition. Good clubhouse food. The only negative was the inaccuracy of the pro shop stock being advertised on the club website.
