Nice little 9 hole course
Played Hartford for the 1st with my youngest son. Course was in good condition considering the amount of rain we have had recently, greens very good and majority of fairways firm, just a few soft areas in places.
OK course if you want 9 holes, we played 18 which meant that you play the same holes, from the same tees twice, although we played Oranges Tees on 1st 9 and green on 2nd to give some variety.
My only slight criticism is not sure who has priority on the tee when we came to play 2nd nine holes. There was quite a big queue, but fortunately a 4 ball let us play 1st otherwise we would have been held up for about 25 minutes.
Also, I know it’s a pay and play course rather than members, but it was very apparent that hardly anyone repaired pitch mark on greens or divots on fairways. Not good in my view, plus didn’t seem to be any dress etiquette enforced and saw one three ball playing out of a single bag of clubs.
Just minor irritations but trying to install good habits with my son who is just starting out is difficult when others seem no5 to care.
Windy Milla
Played course on a very windy day, as you would expect lower holes were sheltered but as you climbed the hill the windy conditions were more apparent. Course was playing firm with fast greens. Not a day for a high handicap player, but at least I gave it a go.
Just as I remember it
Played this course after a week of dry weather,The course didn't disappoint, mainly dry fairways and good greens. Still a tight course on some holes that pushed my limits as a high handicap golfer.
Will be back
The course was in good condition to say that courses in the area were closed due to rain. Wet in places but greens and tees very playable and good drainage. Some very interesting holes great value for money. We will be returning.
Excellent value
First time I've played this excellent 9 hole course, plenty of challenges for all abilities, course in brilliant condition, made to feel welcome by pro shop( which is very well stocked), and also members on course and in the club house,
Will definitely be returning soon.
Hartford golf
Wow ! What a course . Brilliant holes .good condition. Not long but enjoyable and plenty of hazards to catch you out . We booked 18 holes on golf now for £22 . Bargain . Beer and pool table in clubhouse . No fussy clothing requirements. Relaxed atmosphere and good place for beginners with different tees . We played greens which was equal to normal yellow tees . Other players very friendly. Just have to mindful of errant drives from driving range area on last hole . But apart from this a very enjoyable round.Clubhouse balcony overlooking pond with koi carp . Bar lady very pleasant will definitely return . 7 th is special !!
Great course with fantastic fairways and greens
Hartford is definitely value for money. It’s a brilliantly designed course with hole 7 being the jewel in their crown.
Far beyond expectations.
If you expect St Adrews you will be disappointed but if you expect an absolutely top notch 9 hole golf course with some very challenging holes and amenities to rival (and possibly shame) some 18 hole courses, you will be delighted. Incredibly friendly staff, very comprehensive pro shop and superb clubhouse.
Course in great condition
Played 18 on bank holiday Monday. The greens are great considering it's only spring they are really good, the fairways are a lot firmer now and roll well from a driver. Would highly recommend.
5* As always
The staff are a great bunch, always happy to chat and not just try and sell you something. Really great vibes. Do a great pie in the cafe.
The driving range and course 110% as always!

Great winter coarse
Considering the recent rainfall the coarse was in very good condition, little soft under foot in places, greens drain well and were well looked after, nice to see good coarse management in the fact winter tees being used, would definitely recommend around if never played here
Worst Course EVER!
Having played here and handful of times we though we would be in for a nice morning of golf. Oh how wrong we were.
After waiting nearly 30 mins past our tee time to get the round underway we found ourselves waiting nearly 20 minutes on each tee box. And the reason - where do I start.
We have had nothing but idiots in front of us today, 2 beginners who took 19 strokes to complete the first hole, after a play through on the 2nd we were then held up by a gentleman giving his son the most in-depth on course golf lesson ever on the 3rd hole. After waiting for 15 minutes and 9 lost balls, for the middle of the fairway to clear we proceeded to have to wait at each shot for 10 minutes while the lesson commenced, it took 36 minutes to complete the 3rd hole. As we approached the 4th we were greeted by 2 young lads who had decided the first 3 holes were too busy and they would start on the 4th….adding yet more time to our wait.
After then taking approximately 1 hour to complete the next to holes we were greeted the the 7th tee box by a party of 6 players all playing together and after poor tee shots taking a mulligan each because they did not hit the green. Queue another 20 minutes wait.
It took just a little over 3 hours to complete 9 holes, we were due to play 18 but could not bring ourselves to wait any longer as at this rate we would be completing the 18th hole in the dark.
This is possibly one of the worst managed courses I have ever had the misfortune of playing.
There is no way that I will ever again grace the course at Hartford.
I must add that even after a call to the club house to try and speed play up no staff member came onto the course to try and Marshall the speed of play.
There was zero etiquette on the course and the final straw was seeing 3 young guys jump the fence at the 4th hole and join the queue.
Everyone - please save your precious time and money and play elsewhere, this is the biggest waste of space, time and effort I have ever had in 19 years of playing this game. There is no organisation and no control over the tee times.
Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else. I would not recommend this to anyone, EVER!
