Overally good I would book again
Started the day with breakfast which was very fresh and tasteful.
We were given range tokens for a worthy warm up.
Then we proceeded to play the course which was in very good condition considering it is winter with rain, I thought the ground drained very well and the greens were in good condition.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the members were also very welcoming and friendly offering advice with regards to course knowledge
A course of 2 halves
If ever a course summed up the old phrase a course of 2 halves, this is it. The front 9 was pleasant parkland, with numerous water hazards, especially the 2nd hole where a pitch over the water onto a raised green was an early surprise. The course gave opportunity to score on the front 9, but danger lurked on the tough par 3 8th, with a raised green and water to the left. We just missed the half way hut, which looked good, before embarking on the inland links style back 9. Normally 'inland links' style courses are a let down, not this one. Really good design, well spaces out and great holes. The finish from 14-18 will live long in my mind. Overall, great clubhouse facilities and food (recommend the gammon steak), even better practice facilities and a good solid course. Membership seems to be thriving, with a good atmosphere.
