What a difference
Having played the Baroness course last year and been thoroughly disappointed with both course and facilities
I played last week
What a difference 6 moths and a new owner makes
The course was in excellent condition, the clubhouse has had a makeover and the staff are excellent
The driving range has been updated with good practice balls and new mats
Booking has been made easy with the online system
Much improved - well done
Waste of time and money
Booked in advance only to find out when we got there that 9 out of the 36 holes were open which meant the 9 holes were packed. Course was like a big, greens were terrible. Clearly the club just wanted to take people’s money rather than just do the right thing and close the course.
Will not be returning!
Poor condition
Played this course recently and was not impressed with the condition of fairways and greens
Fairways were patchy and dry, you were better off in the semi-rough at least you had some grass under the ball
Greens were brown and had muddy patches on some, for this time of year the greens should be far better
Will not be in a hurry to play again regardless of price
Baroness
Course was in bad shape. Hard to tell different between fairways and rough. Even though the green were being treated they were still terrible.
Poor
Played here about 15 years ago and from memory not to bad, played last sat and all I’ll say is won’t be entertaining this place again shocking customer service and the course is in very bad condition and not worth the £30 I paid to play
Beadlow Baroness Course
The Baroness course first 9 holes was in awful condition even a few members come over and said it was closed for repairs.
This obviously made our experience extremely negative the back 9 was in better condition and we even saw a few members playing it.
Such a shame as we will now not be returning.
Great course, greens need some TLC
The baroness is a Lovely course and one I’ve played a few times now. Great value for money however the greens do need some tlc
Needs TLC
This course is desperately in need of some TLC.
The whole set up seems really run down and the course is not being looked after. Pro shop was shut, due to staff shortages, on a Saturday. There are no signs pointing to next hole, lay out was not clear. Could be a good course, it's such a shame.
Really nice course's
this course gets some bad revues but i really cant see why?
2 lovely well laid out courses with some great views.
i was a member back in the 80's and to be fair it need some investment, facilitates look a bit tired, But staff are really friendly and with a bit of TLC this would be a great golf club.
for £16 per round you get millionaires golf, the course is in ok condition , the Baron has some really nice holes , it was scorching when we played and probably needs a good bit of water, But honestly i hope this course can get itself back to its best it would be a tremendous club.
some people want Wentworth for a £10 and get upset when its not perfect and write a bad revue, i would suggest think how much you paid and what you got and maybe try and find positives instead of knocking it..... Good luck Beadlow i for one will be back and i hope you can get back to your former glory.
Poor
Course in very poor condition considering it's golf season, it's not maintained, greens are patchy, you can't tell what's fairway and what's ruff. At £24 a round its hugely over priced considering the state or this course. I played at wyboston lakes a week later and that is a course worth every penny and puts this one to absolute shame! The Baroness needs some serious investment and time spent making it a nice course to play on. And to top it of the driving range was out of order before my round as well. Won't be back!
Nice course let down by greens
My son and I played on Sunday of bank holiday weekend and virtually had the course to ourselves. Had a friendly welcome at the pro shop. Neither of us had played for a while so it was a good opportunity to blow away the golfing cobwebs. Course is very pleasant and not too challenging, so you can go for your shots. Fairways were generally in good shape but unfortunately the greens were very average. Many had bald patches and even for golfers of our standard I guess they added 8-10 shots to our scores. Clubhouse was very quiet but we enjoyed a drink after the round.
To put the experience into context, I played the Brabazon at the Belfry 4 days later, so experienced an entirely different standard of course/green quality. If Beadlow can improve their greens I'd certainly visit again.
