Astoria Golf Resort - Championship Course

Description

Astoria Golf Resort in Cihelny, just outside of Karlovy Vary, has two courses, a championship 18-hole course and a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course. Both courses sprawl across the beautiful countryside of western Bohemia in the protected nature reserve Slavkovsky les. The golf courses are nestled in a valley, which was a strategic decision in regard to the weather conditions. The championship course has a Scottish links-style layout crafted by Gary Player Design. It provides a challenge for stronger players but is still player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The layout starts out on a sloping hillside before moving onto the flood plain of the river Tepla, with several holes edging the banks of the river. Thanks to the golf course's playability, it has been host to several tournaments over the years including the PGA Czech Golf Tour and the Czech International Amateur Championship.
