While not to be mistaken for a 5-star course, WPCC is a great deal for bargain golfers like myself. The grass, fairways and greens, is almost always in top form, even when other more expensive courses are showing burn spots from the hot summers here. (I recently played a WDW course, and it was not in as good shape.) The layout is flat as a pancake (like most FL courses), and there is not one water hazard (good for some of us), but there is enough variety to keep things interesting. Hole number 5, probably the most interesting to play, is a short par-5 dogleg left. Complete with an enormous oak tree that guards the green, only on your best day can you make the green in 2. At less than $10/round, I believe WPCC to be one of the best values in Central Florida. May/00 |
