It was after hitting at the fifth or sixth practice ball on their abreviated range that the theme song from Lawrence of Abrabia invaded my consciousness and stuck for the rest of the round. This is a nicely designed, challenging course in the Sierra Foothills located between the thriving metropolis' of Farmington and Arnold. Beautifully maintained, the course is challenging from any tee. The #2 hole, with a long drive over water and a tricky second shot to a well guarded green is one of my favorite holes in California. Actually, the biggest challenge is to use your head, not your macho heart, on every shot. Oh, and that Lawrence of Arabia theme, it gets real, real hot in that canyon. Bring a lot of water, bring a hat, hell, bring a camel! January/00 |
