Slightly flatter than the adjacent Royal St. Georges but no less difficult when it's wet and windy. With 27 holes it is worth making a day trip from London when the day is long. The course tends to dry out in the summer with lots of bumps and runs. It may look very ordinary at first sight but you will grow to like it the more you play. I used to play there as a boy but have not been in the area since the 1985 British Open. December/99
