Home park Golf Club is a fantastic, one-off golf course, set in flat parkland immediately adjoining the grounds of Hampton Court Palace (Home to Henry VIII and several other kings and queens - older and prettier than Versailles). At £22 a round its not cheap - but the experience is unique. The course plays like a links - lots of sandy lies, wispy grass and fairway "moguls" (beware those right-angled kicks). Deer from Hampton Court deer-park (to which it abuts) roam freely across fairways, and add to the spectacle of playing in the shadow of one of the world finest historic buildings. If you visit London and play only one course, make sure it's this one. Phone first. Its not hard getting on, but finding the club-house is not that easy - vehicular access to the park is normally forbidden, and you will find yourself be told to ignore atleast one set of no entry signs !!
