Outstanding views
Played this course on 28th October
Course was in outstanding condition for time of year
Guy in pro shop was great, telling us about course and that, bumped into few members while out playing and when finished (social distance obviously) and they were super friendly also
Great course I’ll definitely play again
And the views where amazing
Fantastic round
Great round had at Whitehead GC. Man in the Pro Shop was more than helpful. Ran us through how the course condition was and that the greens were a little sandy. Greens were completely fine for this time of year and the weather we’ve had the past number of weeks. Course very well maintained, some lovely tricky holes. Views walking down the 3rd fairway are stunning! We had a lovely sunny day yet a little windy which added to the fun! All in all we will be back playing Whitehead GC!
Nice course
Got a hot deal and played with my father , there’s been some heavy rain recently, and I had been told the course suffers badly when wet, but tbh course was fine, 2 or 3 soft parts. Greens good and fast , fairways freshly cut. No issues will play again. There’s a few hills .
Fun in the wind!
Back at whitehead for the first time in a few years. Course playing well and other than a couple of small issues on 2/3 greens it is in great nick. The fairways are in especially good condition throughout. (Putted on worse!)
At £19 for 18 it’s a great wee track and good fun.
Great course
Played Whitehead for the first time and really enjoyed the round. The course is in excellent condition and we'll layed out. Challenging course and would recommend.
Great views
Great job by the greenkeepers, the course was in Excellent condition, great fairways and the greens where quick and smooth!
The views around Whitehead are incredible.
Definitely worth a round.
Great and Pro shop professional.
Love this course, great layout and some testing holes! The professional in the pro shop was really friendly, also Kind enough to give us opportunity to test An review new Titleist Velocity Matte Golf Balls for free. the balls definitely give you few more yards carry. But harder to keep on the green as the course was very firm. Would definitely recommend this course to any handicap golfer.
Forgiving yet tricky
Some very nice views around the course.
Was wet underfoot (very in some parts). It's a forgiving enough course but some tricky holes. Good few par 5s and a few long 4s.
Hilly enough. So if you've bad knees like moi... Be warned.
First time playing this course and wont it be the last, Lovely course in great condition, great selection of holes,
Beautiful
This beautiful course is about 30 minutes drive outside Belfast.
On arrival we met the club pro who was excellent company and gave us the layout of the course since it was our first time playing it.
The course is nestled in between Carrickfergus and Larne and offers fantastic views of the Coast. The view from the 3rd is simply stunning.
The course is beautifully maintained and the greens are in excellent condition. The course is fair, a mix of interesting par 4s and par 3s. It’s fantastic value and definitely worth a visit
If you’re not playing well at least you can enjoy the view
Great course, in superb condition and stunning scenery. The course winds it’s way over the headland at the foot of islandmagee and has superb views of Larne Lough on one side and belfast Lough as you make your way back. The course is challenging with a lot of uphill and blind shots and the greens were in great shape. Really enjoyed playing here and will be back for sure.
The course has great views
Greens covered in sand but all courses have it now for this time of year played well in greens
Superb Layout
Played the course on a really fresh autumnal morning, the night before there had been a huge amount of rain. We were warned by the pro that the course was very soft in places due to this.
We went ahead and played with the knowledge that the course would not be in perfect condition however this was more than made up for by the stunning scenery on the front 9.
The course had matured significantly from the last time I played it 15 years ago and the growth of trees to now line the fairways makes it a much better course.
I can't wait to go back in the summer and play it when it's in it's best condition and see how it plays then.
Unreal scenery
This is a unique course in my eyes as the front 9 is set on a massive hill which is quite a slog to get up the first 3 or 4 holes but once your get to the summit you are really well rewarded with some outstanding 360 degree panoramic views over Belfast Lough and the surrounding areas. A really friendly and welcoming atmosphere made the day worthwhile and I'll definitely be going back some day soon.
Totally superb course, friendly staff and golfers would recommend any good golfer to play this course.
