This course truly deserves the title "Best course in Europe", I have found that it is best to play in the summer when the wind is not so strong. The last time I played at this course was feb "99 the North wind is so strong and very noticable on the back nine. For example the 17th, a signature hole of the course, took a driver and two three woods to reach the green. One does get assistance on the 11th par 5, a driver and a seven iron. The course is beautifully manicured and the assistance of "Four Caddies" gives the feeling of being a proffesional. (Four Caddies are provided by the course, and the price is included in the green fee, a Spanish chappie comes around with you and repairs pitch marks, if you ever get on a green, and rake's the bunkers when you've played that fantastic shot from the sand. On arrival at the club, we were a group of ten, several young lads appeared on golf trollies and collected our clubs and shoes, took them to the caddie master for us to retrieve at our convieniance. They will clean your shoes and clubs when your round is over and generally treat you like a VIP. There is also the facility of free unlimited use of the driving range. Summing up I would say the course is fantastic, and the treatment makes you feel like a million dollars. Definately worth the $125.00 fee.

Valderrama lived up to its reputation as one of the best courses in the world. This fall (00) it was in tremendous shape. The staff was very professional and hospitable. The front nine has several challenging holes, but the back nine is where the true challenge lies. Although the course looks like all you need to do is hit the ball straight, it takes careful placement of all shots to score well. There is VERY little room for error on this course. You can't take many chances, and approach shots must be hit precisely. One of the fellows I played with hit his approach to # 10 and was about 2 feet short of the elevated green. His ball rolled 30 yards back to him. On his next chip shot he was short again. He didn't even have to move to hit his third approch shot. Such is the skill required to play this course well. I would return in a minute to the lovely, challenging course.

My wife and I were among the first golfers to play Valeramma after a lengthy closing, like at Augusta National. The course was not set up with caddies yet and we were on our own. The cork trees lining the fairways make for tight drives and yet the fairways are generous. The par fives are all reachable in two for big hitters according to the wind direction. Cost was $175.00 plus cart fee.
