200yrs of golf. Golf included in a list of unlawful amusements in Aberdeen Register of l565! Young Tom Morris scored 58 on the then new 14 holes in l872. See a ballot box dated 1780 at the 6th oldest club. Genuine links with the first tee shot toward the sea directly in front of a window for all the members to critique form. Play through a sheltered valley of 529 yds. where only bunkers and dunes to see. A mere 222 yd. parthree through a tiny opening. From the 2-5 holes; drives over pits, cross bunkers, bents, gorse and a stream just to get your attention. May drive the 8th as downwind and then turn into the wind coming home. Triple tiered green at the 11th, avoid a burn at the 14th. 17th is a hard hard l8lpar three-probably need two woods at 18 and a full dram after a windblown wonderful test of golf. Head for the clubhouse filled with nostalgia, coat and tie please. Ladies have their own clubhouse. A good view from clubhouse with a mug in hand.
