I thought this course was great. It's in the "gold country" of the Sierra foothills, a little off the beaten track, but very pretty. A two-hour drive, give or take, from San Francisco/Oakland. Recently changed hands (early 1999)so things may change. There are lodges and packages deals, but I could not stay.

Recently re-designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. It was a wonderful course before now it's outstanding!
