Castle Oaks Golf Club

The layout and condition of the course was great. The driving range has grass to hit off. The putting green was crowded, which I assume was due to a Men's Club event that was being held the day we were there. We played early (7:57 AM on a Monday) to get off the course early as the weather was forecast to hit 100 degrees. We didn't get the round in as fast as we could have, but I blame the Men's Club event for that, too. We would have liked to have had breakfast there, but according to their website, the restaurant doesn't open until 9:00 AM and is closed on Tuesdays. So, keep that in mind when making your plans.

4 hours 30 minute round. didn't expect that on a weekday, 12:30 tee time. staff is always so friendly. can't believe after all these years, there is no sand in the bunkers. course is beautiful tho.

Due to technical issues with their computer they had to write down my credit card information 😬 Hopefully he’s not purchasing a Mercedes 🤪 Otherwise it was a nice day for golf, playing for the first time with my grandson and son-in-law. It was slow pace due to Father’s Day weekend, but the pace picked up. My issue was it is now advertised as a Troon course but they are not able to accept my points for Toon membership?

For the second time in a row I had to play behind a five some. Worse was the fact that yesterday I was behind two five some. I understand you are catering to the members but you are alienating the general public.
I like to play there but will seek other options in the future..

The only thing that I have to complain about is that this is the second time playing and both times the restaurant was closed.
The snack bar was open and had a limited menu...sandwich or hot dog...your choice!
Next time I will not get there so early and find food elsewhere.

I really liked the layout of the course but the course was not very well maintained overall.

Well maintained and greens were slower but difficult!

First of all, the good: nice course. Great staff. Solid pro shop and and a nice grass range.
What needs work: Pace of play was very slow. Saw one Marshall on the 15th hole.
Groups in front of me taking way too much time looking for their balls every hole. Should be playing easier courses if you’re that bad.
Tons of ball marks in the greens that nobody fixes. Not the staffs responsibility. Seems to be a problem everywhere. Golfers need to fix their ball marks. Same groups left traps unraked. Mommy’s not here to pick up after you. Learn proper course etiquette or again, go play easier courses.

Snack shack has a tiny Hot Dog cooker and was having to microwave hotdogs (were still cold in the center)at the turn because too many people were buying Hot Dogs and they couldn’t cook em fast enough in the mini cooker. Hot Dogs at the turn is nothing new. Please equip the restaurant with equipment that can keep up with the demand.

Will definitely be back. Probably stick to weekday rounds unless I hear the Marshall situation improves.

Castle Oaks has long been one of my favorite places to play. The course is difficult at times, but not so much to destroy a great outing. I LOVE the character of the course. The holes are well-designed, and you literally have to use every club in your bag. I would have rated the course conditions as "excellent" but I felt that the rough was a little too long. We had to spend too much time searching for balls that were not in the fairway. This is still one of the premier public courses in all of Northern California. I can't wait to get back to Castle and play it again.

FIRST PLAYER IN 3SOME THAT ALMOST PARRED COURSE FROM THE TIPS. AWESOME GOLFER. HAD A GREAT TIME WITH HIM AND HIS BROTHER. AWESOME COURSE AND WILL DEFINITELY PLAY AGAIN.

First time in 20 years here. Greens were smooth and overall conditions were great. Check out the opportunistic property owner around hole 13,14?
