Course Reviews

Course Name Puakea Golf Course
Location Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, USA

Nicest couse that I ever played at in Hawaii! Breath-taking Views and fairways are above average...Uneven lies made it challenging and a "signature" hole on the 8th speaks for itself. Although, keep in mind that this is a newer course (Nov. 1995) and the greens will need to mature to become superb.

Golfed this course in February of 2001. The course layout was spectacular, and the fairways and greens were in fine condition, but the staff was a joke.

We came around the second time and were held up for 15 minutes even though the party that we waited on was missing two memebers. When we asked the marshall/starter if we could play through, she snorted and told us we needed to get on Kauai time, whatever that was supposed to mean!

When the party ahead finally was ready to tee off, she made a point of telling them that they should just enjoy their golf day, and not let anyone play through. The result? We had to leave before our round was over, because it took almost 6 hours to complete! I wouldn't play this course again for free - too frustrating. My advice - play Poipu Bay if you want a real golfing experience.
