Comments from Andrew Stuart, General Manager, Parkdale, Melbourne
The Long Island Country Club is a magnificent challenge as part of the elite sandbelt courses that this country has come to admire and respect. Rated the 41st best course in Australia, this private members club, with bent grass greens and couch fairways shouldered by ti-treed fairways and magestic manor gums is a jewel in the Peninsula's crown. Situated only 35km from the Melbourne Post Office this course provides a challenge to members and their guests. Currently the course is receiving a facelift to two par 5 holes and adding an additio nal 100m to the already challenging 6122m and par 72. These new holes will incorporate two doglegs and a beautiful lake and wetlands feature to this 60 year old course. On completing the golfing challenge, members enjoy the Tudor style clubhouse and open fire and the friendliness of the staff. The Club Professional, Mr Cameron McLean will attend to your every golfing need and the General Manager, Mr Andrew Stuart will be pleased to receive enquiries regarding a visit to this magestic oasis in the hustle and bustle of corporate Melbourne.
