Course Reviews

Course Name Ballybunion New Golf Course
Location Ballybunion, Ireland
Comments from Steve Bric, Manhattan Beach, California, USA
Nothing like the Old Course at Ballybunion. Too many blind tee shots, and too often there is literally no room for error off the tee... Too hard to enjoy. Stick with the Old course here.

I have played Ballybunion (Old and Cashen) 4 times and am coming back in Aug. for my fifth go. Totally enjoy the old Course and the blind holes as it requires every shot in your bag and then some - particularly when the wind is coming off the sea at 35mph. I do think the Cashen course is a better golf course but given a choice will take the Old course for shee golfing enjoyment.

Played this course in September 2001 with one of my best friends. Hardly a breath of wind and it still beat us up badly. From the moment you see the dunes in the distance to the moment you leave you know this is a special place. We'd play there again tomorrow!!
