As good as I’d been told.
Great round of golf with my son and a guy (Ross)I’d never met who was on holiday in the area. Course has a good variation of holes, the greens were surprisingly quick, and the fairways in good nick considering the amount of rain that fall in the past few days. The pro was chatty and friendly. Will definitely return to play again.
Spectacular
The golf course should be a must play if you are visiting Nairn. Though there are no ocean view holes, it’s a great test of golf and may have one of the best holes in the highlands (18th). I’ve played all of the courses in the area, everything in-between Brora and Nairn, and I really do consider this a great test of golf.
Good course very enjoyable
Course was in good condition. Greens were good pace and not too fast. Noted that the large cross ditch on the 16 was not visible or marked (would know next time !!) which was disappointing.
Wind was severe which made playing awkward but didn't detract from the experience.
Wasn't too impressed with the welcome in the pro shop - he seemed more interested in other golfers who were there (assumed club members) about to play in front of us, because of this did not take advantage of the clubhouse facilities.
Overall enjoyed the course and would play again.
Great day
Smashing course,Great greens, nice guys in pro shop and bar staff.
Will return
Brilliant.. but tough
I loved it and was very lucky to get such a deal from Golf Now. The pro was very friendly and it was a warm welcome in the clubhouse.
I thought the course was superb, fairways in great nick, greens were awesome. Highly recommend to anyone looking to play a terrific links track.
Sun, wind and rain.
Challenging course whatever your handicap.. Generous fairways but trouble waits for wayward shots. Large greens In good condition to test the best of putters.
Nairn Dunbar
Great course and great value. Course was busy with an inter club match playing 4-balls so 3:45 hrs to play was not too bad.
One slight criticism would be the tee-time behind teed off a bit early at times - not sure why as there were about 6 x 4-balls in front with no big gaps!!
Played here 10 years ago and had forgotten what an absolute gem of a course this is and to make it even sweeter it only cost £25.99. Nairn must be some course if this is considered a weaker course just make sure to hold your nose going down the 12th fairway as the smell from the caravan park is quite overwhelming
A great day at Nairn Dunbar
I got a last minute deal through GolfNow and played with a chap from Carlisle. This is a course that I had wanted to play for a very long time. From meeting the chap in the shop to saying 'cheers' to the barman upon finishing a pint it was a great experience. The greens were utterly terrifying in terms of speed and borrows. It is not a particularly long course but has some great par 4s - including several doglegs - on both front and back 9. The 8th was the pick of the par 3s.
The course was easy to navigate around and was in immaculate condition, although it was mid July. The bunkers and tees were all very neat and tidy. My only very slight criticism is the final hole - I assume that the green has been relocated to the top tier and changed from a par 4 to a par 5. If so, I don't think this was a particularly good decision. I failed to play to my handicap but it took me several holes to get used to the speed of the greens. Scoring on the back nine proved to be easier than the front 9. Lovely, bright club house affording splendid views over about 5 holes. Friendly staff. Excellent facilities. Altogether, a really great day. I look forward to going back.
Superb course, in superb condition.
The course was excellent and the condition was superb. Will be returning at some point in the future.
Nairn Dunbar
Played Nairn Dunbar with my youngest son, who is a very competent golfer, because it was the nearest and the only course able to accommodate us at such short notice. Basically we lucked out, the staff were very accommodating and offered us some very useful tips and advice to make the most of the course. The course was in excellent condition, the bunkers were punishing and difficult, but like all good links courses the run on the fairway could add yards to your drive, however, be wayward and the rough & the gorse made it difficult to get a score. we were never held up, were greeted off the course with a check that everything had been to our satisfaction. We did bump into a couple of members who seemed genuinely delighted we were playing there course. All in all, a fabulous experience finished off with a couple of pints in the friendly bar. Thank you Nairn Dunbar
Great course
This is such a good course, great value for money.
Great course
Fantastic course in great condition. Very beautiful layout particularly around the turn . Friendly and helpful staff in pro shop. First class.
Nairn Dunbar - Super Course / nice people (staff and members)
Course was good for early in the season; lots of work being done and should be top notch very soon. Clubhouse was excellent and staff very accommodating. Pro shop staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely play again.
Great course!
Only negative was the greens and that was purely because of the time of year.
