| Overall, PGA National is a great golf facility. Staff are excellent and super nice. Champion course is a lot of fun. Fazio design with lots of water, sculpted fairways, bunkers and greens. #4,#5, #15-17 were redesigned by Nicklaus. Very challenging. Great conditions. Tricky greens. Many memorable holes. #18 is a great finishing hole. The "Bear Trap" is challenging but you can score well if you are accurate. Lots of history - 1983 Ryder Cup, 1987 PGA Championship and host to many Senior PGA Championships. I've played several courses ranked in the top 100 and this course belongs in that category. A must play!!! January/02 |
