This little nine hole course should be an exercise in cheap, unpretentious, and enjoyable golf. The price is right and the staff are folksy, but alas all else feels wrong. The course is poorly maintained, to the point of having dead grass and litter on the fairways. Above all, the players there are wild, rude and have ZERO etiquette. We're talking loud, unruly, hit-shots-into-your-party-and-then-ask-to-play-through-while-belching-beer rude. But if you don't mind gravel tee boxes where you put your tee into some bath mat contraption instead of real grass, or if you've ever been booted off a muni course for bad behavior, this may be the place for you. I've never seen anything quite like it. August/01 |

| I have played Wellinton Hill golf Course dozens of times in the last two months due to being layed off. The course (though not very elitist) is more than adequate for the price (16.00) for 18 holes. I usually am a single and join in with other walk ons and without exception have found everyone polite if not skilled. The course is short, 2735 yards, but decent postage stamp greens make up for that. Another unique touch is the first and 6th tees that play over a street. I recommend this course to any vody that like to just walk on eith up to 4 players. November/01 |
