Course Reviews

Course Name Lochranza Golf Course
Location Lochranza, Isle of Arran, Ayrshire, Scotland
Comments from Iain M. Robertson, Lochranza, Isle of Arran, Scotland
The original 9 hole layout was opened in 1899. The present very interesting layout, 18 tees to 6 double and 6 single greens, was opened in 1991. Designed to offer something different from most other golf courses there is not a weak hole on the golf course.

Golfers of every standard will find their golfing pleasure on what must be one of the most delightfully scenic golf courses around. The wild red deer grazing the fairways and golden eagles soaring overhead complement over 25 species of birds feeding and nesting in the trees, hedges, and waterways on the golf course.

Open to visitors every day from 1st May until 20 October.
