Course Reviews

Course Name Lake Karrinyup Golf Club
Location Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Comments from Ken Lye, Singapore
The club is a private club open only to members, members' guests and reciprocal members.

The course is an 18 hole course built around Lake Karrinyup, hence the name. The course is rather long and testing off the back tees. Though it has some short par 4s but do not be deceived that they are easy holes...more often than not the short length is compensated by strong head winds and uphill tee shots...in fact, wind features quite a bit on this course. It has a spectacularly scenic par 3, the 8th hole, which requires a 175-180m carry over water to the centre of the green. Add a strong wind which usually comes from left to right...it is tough..requiring you to play a draw hook into the wind to make sure you get to the centre of the green...straight shots will send you to the trees on the right!

The fairways are immaculate..hard yet springy causing your drive to roll a lot more and the greens are fast and true..not to mention hard-ish requiring a lot of spin to stop your ball dead on the green. Fantastic condition on the greens!

All in all, a fantastic course to play on....if you can get in of course!!
