Many who sit and wait for the snow to clear will understand what anticipation to play is like. When I lived in Northern Manitoba, I enjoyed playing my home course of The Thompson Golf Club. It is nine holes, par 74, long with two threes, and three fives. Hazards are few because you have to deal with big greens, tree d fairways and bugs galore. I have played many nine hole courses and I always dreaded going around for the second time. This course makes you want to come back for more and more. Built and run by the members it is a must to play if you venture this far north. A season runs from M ay 15 to September 30. Many would say after August the season ends. The club championship is help the Labour Day weekend, the first of September. You play three days of long days, cold weather and usually tough conditions. As a past club champion, twice, I was honoured to have won.

A demanding 9 holes that requires good clean shots to come up with a solid score. Tournament-wise, to stay in the hunt this course offers three par fives to go at! Stray from the fairway and suffer the consequences. If you are in the area don't pass it u p! I've enjoyed being a member and have played that 9 holes many times, but it never gives me that feeling that I conquered it. But really, does any course?
