| Greens are challenging. However, some courses just should not have been built and this is one of them. The designer really crossed the challenge/playability line with this one. |

I have Golfed at Summit Pointe a handful of times and every time I go back I enjoy it more and more. One of the best public courses in the Bay Area, top 5. This course is beautifully laid out with long fairways and challenging greens. Every hole has it's own unique style and beauty, but beware every hole, except for, maybe two are hilly. Summit Pointe gives you a chance to escape from the valley in just a few minutes. You will feel like your miles away from the city. Take the challenge of this course once and you will be hooked.

Gorgeous course. Hilly, demanding but not unfair. Some very interesting holes with a beautiful view of Santa Clara, San Jose, etc.

Summit Pointe is a nice course that provides many challenge and an awesome view of the bay area from atop of the Milpitas hills.
The course has it's share of hills and undulating fairways which give you the feel of a link style course.
Greens are forgiving and are mostly flat. Fairways are nicely maintained.
Recently the rates have come down and this public course is now more affordable.
But be warned this course plays very slow, typical weekday rounds are 5 hours with weekend day rounds an unbearable 6 hours.
Driving range and bar on site.
Other than slow play this course is a winner. July/01 |
