| My wife and I find this was a great site to visit before we started out our golf trip to the coast of Oregon. We did find Sandpines in Florence, Oregon was a delight to play, part of the course is on the dunes and part is into the forrested area, It is a new course but a jewel. |

| I'm a very well read student of the game and love the architecture portion of it. Sand Pines while in pristine conditon is a faliure in the sense of design principles, failing to utilize the natural surroundings (especially on the last three holes). Thi s course is built on sandy dunes, about as close as you can get to true links land, something the United States does not have enough of, true links courses. Architect Rees Jones failed miserably here and basically copied several of the holes from his fat hers course @ Spyglass in the Monterey Penninsula. If you only look at a course for it's condition values then this course will be somewhat enjoyable, but don't think your an expert in the field of good golf courses, because this course fails the test mis erably. |

| This is a splendid course, offering a variety of shotmaking challenges. The course is beautifully designed and takes full advantage of the variegated land. Its' award for best new public course in 1993 was well-earned, despite the dismissive remarks made by pseudo-intellectuals/golfers such as Tom Naccarato! May/2000 |

| Kind of reminded me of Spyglass. Tough track. Played back tees and I enjoyed the challenge. Luckily I didn't get the winds that normally come in the afternoon. Only disappointment was getting stuck behind an HS girls golf tournament. Took 3 hrs. just to finish the front nine. Would have been nice for pro shop staff to inform me or offer a discount. | Wind always a major factor and can make a 3 club difference. Course in great shape and inexpensive. Fairways are wide enough for high cappers but challenging enough for low cappers. Don't forget a jacket in summer-the cold wind can be a distraction. August/2001 |
