The second course built and operated by the Northern California Golf Association. This one has a nice links feel to it as there are no trees on the course. There are three nines and they keep them all in play. Greens are hard and fast, but then they are y oung! Winds can cause some serious problems. Well over a hundred bunkers on the two nines I played the other day. (I hit seven of them. Arghhh!)

I just played at Poppy Ridge in Livermore, and found the conditions absolutely wonderful. The course is extremely challenging and one is advised to hit the ball straight (and short, if necessary, due to one's skills) rather than going purely for distance. This strategy will pay off without fail, since veering off course usually means trouble when it comes to locating the ball.

This is a new, absolutely wonderful test of your game. Greens are true, course is superbly maintained and the staff has their act together. One of the must play courses in the Bay Area.
