I played Poipu Bay yesterday and it's a great course. It's home to the two-year old PGA Grand Slam tournament. I remember last year when Crenshaw knocked in a 30-yarder to win. The marketing materials call this a links style course but it's actually a traditional Robert Trent Jones Jr. design with Scottish winds coming into play on every hole. The course is in very nice shape and the final four holes play downwind and alongside the Pacific Ocean. It's nearly as spectacular in its scenery as is Cyp ress Point...nearly. If you're visiting Kauai the three courses to try out are Poipu Bay, Prince, and Kiele. All three are worth the visit.

We had the pleasure of playing this course in February of 2001. We have played many courses all over the United States, including Prince, & Pua Kea. Save your money and play Poipu Bay instead. The course was immaculate, the fairways and greens pristine. The staff was courteous and knowledgable, and the views were breathtaking. Didn't come anywhere near to breaking par, but had a great time anyway, and would gladly play this course again, and recommend it heartily to my friends. March/01

Played this course Apr., 01. This course was in excellent shape. The view was outstanding. This course was fun to play. I played it 3 times, each time was great. The staff was excellent. This course is twice as good as Princeville. Highly recommend. May/01
