The Central(College) course. The hardest golf course I have ever played. Only been open a few years. Around $40 with cart; very good condition. May be too out of the way - local, and the fact that the number of rounds not real high. Hosted US amateur qua lifier in Iowa in 96.

It is the best public course in Iowa and also one of the best in the Midwest. They just recently held U.S. Open qualifing here. It is relatively inexpensive for the great golf and the wonderful scenery of the wooded hills of southern Iowa it provides. It can be enjoyed by all types of golfers from the scratch golfer to a 36 handicapper. So if you are in the area I suggest you stop and play 18.

Only five years old and rated the second best public golf course in Iowa. And why not? Bos offers the avid golfer an exciting challenge combined with low rates and a friendly staff. To those golfers who may tend to slice or hook the ball beware! Around 90 % of the fairways are enclosed by majestic Oaks and elderly Hickories. Many fairways at Bos also contain some nasty doglegs which leave you with two options on your tee shot, should you try and go over the trees and pray that your ball lands in the fairwa y, or, should you lay up and hope to reach the green in two. Just because this course is still in the development stage don't rule out the fact that this course may just be the #1 course in Iowa in 1998. If you're not from the area Bos Landen now has it's own Holiday Inn just half a block from the clubhouse, and the famous Okoboji Bar and Grill.! Tell them Joel sent you!
