Le Geant at Mont Tremblant Resort is carved from the mountainsides of the Laurentians. The aptly chosen name translates to 'giant,' referencing the stunning cliffs surrounding the course. The layout is comprised of multiple levels of plateaus that offer panoramic view of the boreal forest and meandering streams that cover the landscape. The golf course is one of two at the resort, the other being Le Diable, or the Devil. While the other course may draw inspiration from it, Le Geant is definitely a more difficult challenge. Although it is shorter, every component of its layout including the numerous sand bunkers, were meticulously placed to provide the greatest challenge.

Magnificent!

Though not overly long, Le Geant is challenging thanks to its uneven fairways and quick, undulating greens. It definitely rewards position over power, its well-designed holes demanding you to put your tee shot in the proper position to attack the flag. The course is also as scenic as it is challenging with gorgeous vistas of the Laurentian Mountains. A joy to play and highly recommended!

Great course in the mountains of Tremblant

Le Geant is one of the most scenic courses in Quebec. Great views of the tree and rock laden mountains. Very few holes are flat. Most holes have either a steeply downhill or uphill tee or second shot.

Fairways were in great condition. They are very hilly and sloped though, which makes for a lot tricky lies with the ball either above or below your feet. The main challenge comes from the elevation changes as there are wide fairways and few water hazards.

The only drawback is that's it's pricey but deals can be found.

Beware 'The Giant' north of Montreal

The Le Geant starts off a little slow before getting its engines running on holes 3-6, where two tough rock-laden par 4s and two pretty downhill par 3s await. The short par-4 11th hole plays just 311 yards from the tips. I made the mistake of trying to hit it too far on a narrow dogleg right. Just layup to set up a shot up the throat of the fairway. The fun 380-yard 14th hole plummets off an elevated tee before veering left and back uphill again. A heroic carry over a ravine from the 458-yard gray tees on No. 18 sets up a demanding downhill approach to end the round. I like Le Geant a bit better than Le Diable but they're very comparable mountain-golf experiences.
