Windy AF
The wind was unreal…..i have never played in wind like that and I’ve been to Scotland a few times!!! This was my first time playing the new holes that were added, and i really enjoyed them. The views of the lake are awesome! And how the holes are right along the edge is so great. looking forward to a return trip with way less wind, so we can properly enjoy the course!!
Wow!!
What a great day of golf!! The staff was great and the course is breathtaking. Read the last 2 reviews and I can honestly say it was either COVID problems or they fixed whatever was wrong (although I did hear they were under renovation summer of 2020, this summer was the first year the full championship 18 hole course was open). It was a scorching day 28 felt like 36 - so we were very thankful for the amazing breeze off Lake Ontario. The bridge over the train tracks was very exciting and you really do feel like you escaped down south for the day with hearing the waves crashing below. It’s a challenging course and overall very good. I’ll be going back again and again.
Go somewhere else
On the same page as the last review. 16 holes and 68 dollars with a cheap meal full of meat scraps and big lettuce leafs. The new holes are dry un watered and unacceptable. Terrible condition for brand new fairways. If you can navigate through the old boys lining up to pay you'll still be waiting a lot. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The new holes are boring anyway.
The sand is the worst I've seen!
We were actually told to speed up! I've been called a lot of things in my day but never a slow golfer, I had to drop tasty bombs on the unfortunately driveable par 4s (hopefully that old women is ok) but I was just doing what the sherrif asked.
I would imagine it will be a 100 dollar round which is embarrassing to say as this farm land fairway course is nowhere near that caliber. Ever been to Baxter Creek? Timber ridge?
How is it so dry, the lake is right there! And it's new grass! I was told they are focused on the younger demographic but with this short course you'd be better off renting wheelchairs to the patrons.
You tell me to speed up when the place looks like the buffet line at shorelines casino @ noon? 68 bucks and all I got were a couple meat scraps. Step up your game.
Way to go Port hope, You've ruined your course. THE BACK 9 WAS THE BEST PART OF THIS COURSE! Cheers. See you at... Another course. Anywhere but there.
