St. George's Golf and Country Club is one of the metropolitan Toronto-area's most prestigious private clubs. Located in the suburb of Etobicoke, the golf course is a classic design by architect Stanley Thompson and opened in 1929. Today, St. George's is a frequent host to some of the nation's most prestigious golf events. It plays as a par 70 for the professionals. A curling facility was added to St. George's in 1957 and members continue to enjoy that sport each winter.
